Thought I'd start a thread for those who have done work on their cars and motors that could be called a "street" or "mild" upgrades. I'll leave it to someone else to start another thread for the "track" or "performance" oriented builds. The idea of this thread is to state the objective of your build and summarize what you did. In the case of the Polara's #'s matching 318 rebuild it was left bone stock because of the car's rarity (1/842). It actually has decent pick up of a car it's size. The Monaco 500 came with a tired 440 out of a 78 NYr. My objective was to build the 440 for good down low grunt and decent passing ability on the highway. The car will never see the track. Here's a summary of the upgrades.
· 440 C.I. V8
· Comp XE262H cam
· Comp Pro Magnum rockers
· Keith Black pistons
· Edelbrock Performer 440 intake
· Edelbrock Performer 1411 carb
· HP manifolds & TTI dual exhaust
· Triple core rad
· 727 auto w/shift kit
· 3.23 Suregrip
· Keystone “Daisy” rims

I have a '65 300 L that I want to improve with mostly factory bolt on parts. It's an untouched 52,000 mile car that runs great but could use more grunt. My plan is to use HP manifolds w/ 2 1/2" pipes, newer "tall" intake with a bigger AVS,a windage tray,& a modern cam that has a good idle. Two things I want to stick with are the 3.23's & the stock converter.I can't start on this till spring but I'll let everyone know how it works out! Oh yea,it's a 413/360 & has run 15.4's like it is. I'd like to see mid / low 14's.Rod

thats very repectable........

How did you add the link to car domain? I'd like to add my car as I have no pics of it on this site.
Thanks. Just copy the link from the from the Explorer tool bar and paste it when you reply to the tread. Alternatively you can just use the "manage attachments" button under "additional options" near the bottom of the page to attach pictures stored on your hard drive when you are replying to a thread on this board. Let me know if I need to explain it better.

Hi Fratzog,Nice cars! Just wondering how the mods affected your 440,are you pleased with the results? How is the idle quality? Thanks,Rod

Thanks. It has a mild street cam(470/270) good up to 5800 with plenty of low end grunt. The car is just a cruiser. That said I can't stop smiling when I occasionally put my foot into it.

Thanks. The eddy carb isn't exactly where I want it to be but it runs better than when I first put it on. BTW this wasn't supposed be a thread about my cars. I was hoping to see posts about what other people have done to their cars or at least are planning to do with their cars.
