I bought a 1966 Chrysler 300 back in 1985 . My boss at the time was tired of me borrowing his truck , so he says , " Kid, I bought the accountants car and it's now yours , I'll take the money a bit at a time from your check". I said , I don't want , A boat , a vinyl roof , white walls , fender skirts .... then i picked up my 300 .
after paying $180 he gave it to me as a Christmas bonus and insured it for the year .
I still have that car . Over the years , I've put about 60 grand into it . Before the internet , I scoured wrecking yards and bought another 300 for the tail lights ,( some kid rear ended me ... much worse for him ) , a wrecked 4 door for the hub caps and a 1976 Newport for the 15 " road wheels .
My first wife wanted me to sell the 300 .... I told her that I had it long before her .... and that I would have it long after her , ( I thought that I was joking , but still have the car , but on my second wife
).
