What to look for when buying a c-body Fuselage - Specifically a 300

Hi There I own a 70 300 and also know someone with a 71. Besides the usual places (rear window, rear quarters, etc) be sure to check the front subframe (stubframe) for rust issues - particularly the two rubber isolator/body mounts at each side (under car between front wheel and door). These...

1970 New Yorker 2-door - Las Vegas area

Console, rimblow steering wheel (?), etc Looks like a bargain at that price...I wonder what is wrong with it?

    1970 300H project - CA

Pretty bad rust around the rear window. Wonder how the rest of her is? At least it has the console "option" as so many I've seen don't.

    Radiator Hose inner coil

Sounds fine to me. This is something I'd do, given most lower hoses no longer have the spring. Stainless steel wire would be better IMO, but the gal should be fine - just check for any rust every now and then.

need no BS alignment shop in DFW area

The FSM should have a table listing the suspension specs (camber, caster, ride height, etc). The ride height is not given as an abolute value, but as the difference between the LCA adjuster blade and the bottom of the lower ball joint with respect to ground. On a level surface, first measure...

    Problems with the alternator Belt

Was it OK before you re-tensioned the belt? A belt will generally only squeal if it is either loose of misaligned. The ammeter does not display volts by the way, just the load current to and from the battery. Given all pulleys turn freely by hand I can only suggest there is a problem with the...

    need new strut rods

The Firmfeel HD struts are a quality item, however do not expect to run your factory sway bar setup with them. I neglected to consider this only to find out the factory sway-strut bushings will not fit. I duly contacted Firmfeel and asked if they supply appropriate bushings (or were planning...

    loose front end

While the same angle on the left and right is correct, the direction of the said angles should be clarified. I understand about 1/16" toe-in is optimum for our cars is it not?

    Rebuilding the entire front end.

Looks like a connector for HV tubular busbars used in many outdoor electricity substation yards. Or some very thin scaffolding...

    Rebuilding the entire front end.

Good articles, but a note of caution re that little bit of grease to help press in the bushings. These bushings (upper and lower control arm) must not be lubricated - the FSM also makes this clear. My story: I went through the first time nightmare of replacing the LCA bushings. One...
