    69-71 Imperial photo harvest

Thank you for your nice comments. The '69 hubcaps are original to this car according to the original owner from whom I bought the car. This is probably due to the fact that the car was built on the first day of production for the '70 model year, on Monday August 4, 1969. It is a Y13 coded...

    Pics of 69-73 C bodies

I am collecting E and B bodies, but I do have, and have had, some Fuselage years C bodies. Here are pictures of some of my present and past 69-72 C bodies: 70 Imperial Le Baron 2d ht 69 Chrysler 300 convertible 70 Chrysler 300 convertible 72 Imperial Le Baron 2 d ht 72 Chrysler New Yorker 4d...

Resurrection of my 1970 Chrysler 300 Convertible

Thank you for the very interesting 1970 300 conv U code TNT statistics, and for keeping track of these cars. Are there any production records available, or is the 11% share of the total 1970 300 conv production (120/1,077) a guesstimate? A similar percentage applied to the 1969 300 conv model...

Resurrection of my 1970 Chrysler 300 Convertible

Thanks you both for the nice comments. Here is some additional information, as well as more pictures of both cars. 1969 Chrysler 300 convertible: I am the third owner of this car. The first owner kept it for 50 years! It has extensive documentation, including the original new car invoice...

Comment by 'Superbird' in item '1970 Imperial LeBaron 2 door hardtop'

Thank you for your comments. I have enclosed pictures of the "fender" tag and the Broadcast sheet. (The second Broadcast sheet contains the same information). Being a Y13 demonstrator car it is loaded with options. As most C body people know, the Imperial LeBaron had many features (that were...

Resurrection of my 1970 Chrysler 300 Convertible

I have just read your entire thread on your 300 restoration project. Very educational, entertaining and inspirational. Impressive perseverance! It makes the past year restoration of my rust free project 1970 Imperial LeBaron 2 d ht seem like a walk in the park in comparison. (See the Showcase...

Comment by 'Superbird' in item '1970 Imperial LeBaron 2 door hardtop'

Thank you for your comments. I have enclosed more pictures. I had been looking for a 1970 Imperial LeBaron 2 d ht for quite some time, but they are hard to find. Few were made (1,803) and the survival rate is very low. 440 engine sourcing and demolition derby took many of them back when they...

1970 Imperial LeBaron coupe, vinyl top padding

Thanks for the feedback. The vinyl top has now been installed. I used factory style padding around the rear glass and a thin layer of padding material elsewhere. Came our really nice. The car is all done now. (Can be seen in the Showcase section).

1970 Imperial LeBaron 2 door hardtop

I found two broadcast sheets in the car. It was built on the first day of 1970 model year production, on August 4, 1969 as a code Y13 demonstrator car. It has all options, and was built with the 1969 model hubcaps. (The only thing nicer on a 69 in my option, a perfect situation). The 70 model...

1970 Imperial LeBaron coupe, vinyl top padding

I am replacing the vinyl top on my 1970 Imperial LeBaron coupe. Going with the black Levant grain vinyl top as it originally came with. Did these vinyl tops use a padding under the entire top, or just on the sides and/or around the back glass plug area? And how thick should the padding be? (I...

    WANTED Wanted: 69-71 Imperial coupe

Thank you for writing and for your good advice. Your points are well taken, and with the coupe being even rarer, I am looking for a car not needing any major work and parts. Congratulations on having your car almost done. I am glad to learn that there are many good people on the C body forum...
