I rebuilt the 440 that was in it. It was just sick and really overheating. Owned it for 2 months before it went. Dumb to drive an unknown car that far in 100+ degree weather. When we got it on the dyno you could tell it was not happy. Ray walked in and said it just smelled bad. Tore it down...
Finally getting back to Carlisle this year after not being there since 2012 ! Life, work and some serious health issues really got in the way but that's all changed so I'm going. Plus Dad is now 83 and in good health but you never know so we're going. Had reservations for 2020 but then well...
What you need to find is a book like this but for Dodge. This is Plymouth only but I notice that the option order numbers the same. Basically shows everything that was available for each model.
How about an area for Canadian c-bodies? Show how they got different trim and options like my Monaco that came with Fury lll interior.
Wagons are always good too. Get a Sport Suburban with a long roof rack, surfboard on top pulling a Chrysler Fury boat. That would be cool.
Most forums are that way. There are always a few that just get so stuck on themselves as to ruin the whole thing. While I really don't spend a lot of time here due to work and life, I think this place is mild compared to some I see. There are some really good people here. Really need to find...
Well no, they are not mechanics. They are one of the top Mopar engine gurus in the country.
You need to pull the engine or have a mechanic do it and bring it to them. They will build anything you want from mild street to full blown race engines.
Go down the street or around the corner whatever it is to Ray Barton Racing Engines right there in Robesonia.
Ray and Dave did my 440 and my dads Hemi. Very pleased with both engines.
They are not low priced by any means but very very good work and well respected.
Depending on what the kit has 3k might not be a bad deal. Of course it still needs to be installed and then tuned. Suspension kinematics is complex and not generally unsterstood well by "the guy next door with a welder." This is a major project. A poorly designed and tuned 4-link is miserable to...
Have you tested/traced the wires to make sure power is getting to the motor?
When I need to remove a gate/window on an inop I power the motor directly off a battery. There are limit switches at the top and bottom that may be messed up so powering directly eliminates all the car related issues...
Mine is a 1-1/2 also. I have another one I need to work on this winter so give me a day or so and I'll pull it apart and get some measurements.
I soaked the stripped body in Berryman Chem-dip (the oldstinky kind that really works)and then polished it with a soft stainless wheel in a die...
I rebuilt a 4578s BBD this summer and could only find a basic kit. Gaskets, accelerator piston etc. but no metering rods or jets to be found except used ones. Posted on here looking for setup info on some of the parts and got many looks but no response. Did find one aftermarket vendor that made...
We are using their booster and MC on my dad's pro-touring 68 Fury. Parts seem to be of good quality. I cannot say the same for the customer service. They know how to sell parts but know zip about actual design of a brake system. Given the calipers we are using and the desired braking level we...
Well, the first one I got because I had just got my license and Dad sold me a 68 Sport Suburban for a buck. It is was/is the first new car he ever bought. He was gonna sell it to a friend but I got it instead. That started the addiction to 68 c-bodies. Now have another Sport Suburban, 68...
I just rebuilt a 4578 BBD on one of our 383 Sport Suburbans. Carb was totally disassembled, soaked in Chem-dip, chromated and reassembled. All gaskets and accelerator pump are new. I converted the sealed metering screws to a conventioal full length screw.
Engine runs good with the carb but I...
I agree with those that suggest letting the engine builder pick and supply the parts. Tell them what you want out of it and it is up to them to supply it. A good - and true - engine builder will know the relationship of all the parts and how they effect each other.
The swap meet at Carlisle is...
