Has anyone ever seen a new owner plate like this?

I also found two build sheets for my car !
One was far better than the other- then I found another for a very nicely optioned 300- vin ends with 164210 if anyone has the car-

My older brother bought a 1959 Sport Fury Convert. new. It came with a gold plaque that you could have engraved but it said "by Plymouth" at the end. The one you have looks like ones I've seen vendors selling at swap meets.

@tvaluke Could you please post the entire vin for the build sheet you found? When I search for my many cars online I search the entire vin and it can bring up information better that way. Single number with 6 digits doesn't bring up much on google. Thanks!

I have actually found a dash plaque like that. The one I found wasn't brass though, it was a plastic that was a gold plastic. Looked like mid 80's stuff.

CM27L9C164210 is the mystery build sheet VIN
So the way I look at it - no matter where the plate came from I have a good possibility of a previous owner’s name- too bad it’s such a common name - lol!

As I recall, the old JCWhitney catalogs they used to send me had several types of "Built Especially For" dash plates in it. This was back in the earlier 1960s!

In a very few cases I can recall, there WERE some OEM factory plates available on a very few cars, over the years. NOT an option, but part of some promotion or such. Just something different to make the new owner fell a bit more special, if that really mattered. Not unlike the Cadillac grille badges with the number of Cadillacs the owner had owned (which few people knew about OR cared about, much to know what they were looking at on the car).

Seems like that every so often, a vendor would appear at the parts counter wanting us to buy some of those "Made Especially For" plates to give to special customers. Never did buy any of them. FWIW

Just some thoughts,

The one I saw was on Murray Park's 66 Monaco 500 440 4-speed car. Woodgrain finish, Pentastar, and Made Especially For...

Murray seemed to think it was legit.

My guess it was a dealer item just too bad I can’t connect the car with a time

The’59 dodge is one of my most favorite cars - I can only imagine how Buddy Holly sounds in that car!

I can remember seeing them on Cadillacs with the raised Cadillac crest. Other makes not so much.

Had a 1962 Lincoln that had one on the dash near the glovebox with original owners name on it. Tried to remove it and splintered the wood dash trim :(

On the white "FBI" '66 Coronet four-door HEMI in the Garlits collection, it has a dash plate that was dealer-provided saying "Made especially for Joe Q. Muckenfutz" (fictitious name). The red four-door HEMI Coronet sold through the same dealership new in Wichita, KS, and has the same "Made for..." dash plate.

Both cars were ordered to "pull a boat with". I've known both cars since the early 1980s. In fact, both were at the same WAM Mopar show in Wichita in 1984.

This one came on the glove box of my high option 61 fury. The original owner was a Chrysler Plymouth executive in 61. Looks like a trophy shop plaque to me?
I've had a few of these on early 60s Lincolns and thunderbirds

Wherever it came from, they were a thing across the country, especially on Chrysler products; and they were stuck on cars by dealers when a customer-ordered car was prepped.
