This vehicle recently sold at auction and I am posting it because it is the only one produced by the factory in 1958 with a special order paint code that was air force blue. That color really makes the car stand out from the crowd.......................

1958 Chrysler 300D Coupe | Gooding & Company

I was unable to copy a lead photo for this link but check the link above - you won't be disappointed.

Gary sold the car to a collector who restored it to its current high level.

Note also that Gary Goers sold his business to Quirey Quality Design when he decided to retire after supplying Forward Look Car reproduction parts for most of his life and many of his parts are on my Forward Look cars.

Note there are some stray photos in the images in this listing of another green 300 that is not in good shape, so ignore those.

Sold for $65K

Agreed . I figured it would sell for six figures easily.

Not yet Dave. This car is one of the topics on the Chrysler 300 Club International list serve and that information hasn't been unearthed. Only Gary himself would likely know the original details as far as I know and I have not been able to contact him lately.

How do they know the only one ordered? Are the records that detailed, even in 58?

Apparently it is the only known one to have been produced since there is no other one in the Club registry that has been found in that color. So that isn't a correct statement it appears.

In all my years, I have never seen one in this color ever brought up before now.

My new favorite blue color. I like that even more than my B3 Cadet Blue.

Steve, we're these made in specific colors, like white, black, gold & red? Something along those lines...

Wow! Thanks for posting this Steve. What a beauty.

Awesome car. Bet the resto cost was double or more than the $65k paid. Seems those auction goers have no taste, they have no problem paying $400k for some Chevy restomod.
