That's were we were. Concrete was off limits. Short walk to the hanger and the displays tho'.

When I was there if you went inside there were displays outside on the apron you could go out and see. Then across the runways there was another building you had to take a shuttle to get to. We didn't have time to do that.
Sounds about right. Never did the shuttle, too busy bench racing with all the Car-Budz you never get to gab with enough 'cept at the Meets, Jer

Saturn -- "deep field" shot with a cell phone, October 3, 6am. Blurs/streaks because I was unsteady trying to hold phone still and there is some light pollution, but those are stars in the background. Photo is brightened to be able to see all the stuff my phone saw.
btw .. a true "deep field shot by Hubble. look at my pic, pick out any black space the size of a pencil eraser, point Hubble at it with long exposure, and this is what you will see (photo courtesy NASA) . That's a bunch of galaxies, each one with, no-****, billions of stars in it.

George Westinghouse bridge, and some fall foliage. Bridge spans the Turtle creek valley. I'm sitting at the west end of Westinghouse East Pittsburgh shops. If you follow the valley to the right in the picture it will lead you to U.S.Steel Edgar Thompson works. With 2 blast furnaces they are still making steel from scratch.

Nothing special about this location. just the parking lot at work on a Sunday morning at 8:30 am.
i dig this time of year.. early spring day when the trees and grass are coming back to life again .. its like they will never be greener and more vivid, nor the sky any bluer in contrast, onr the clouds any whiter against the blue sky

I took these yesterday passing through Sidney OH to pick up some parts. Building and its annex across the street caught my attention. A lotta late 19th century buildings in this downtown .. i didnt have time but really cool architecture still standing.
Shelby County Courthouse, built 1881. Annex year I didnt catch but size of the windows suggests electricity may not have shown up yet.

Description: The building faces south and is a two story limestone and sandstone structure. The south front has a small porch on the first story with four thin columns and balcony on the second story. Above is small pediment with a Statue of Justice. There are similar porches on the east and west sides. The corners have mansard towers. On the center of the roof is a high square clock tower. On the south side of the building and across the street is the County Annex Building.

Yard says folks peruse the pile for intakes, balancers, and the like .. ocassionally whole engines for parts.

Looks like he's being well fed living in town. That's the buck everyone wants to get when hunting season starts out here in Corn County where I live. Guess the big ones are all in town nowadays?

last night, just before 9pm, out front window of my vehicle. Pic quality is poor as I was driving at the time.
In the distance, the first photo shows two "supercell" storms in the distance. a few mins later after I passed through the traffic lights, I was on an interstate and got another pic of the biggest cell (on the left in the first photo).
For all the weatherphiles like me out there, the shape and height of cumulonimbus clouds helps determine storm severity. Underneath these cumulonimbus clouds of this size/shape, there is at least lightning/heavy rain, maybe even hail. along with stong winds.
If a bad storm raging around you, likely one/more of these supercells is over your head. And, if the upperlevel winds are "shearing", plus some other factors, a tornado could drop outta the bottom and wreak some havoc.
Anyway, these things were 40,000 feet tall, with "overshooting" cloud tops, and were a little under 40 miles from where I took these pics. The was a severe thunderstorm warning where these cells were, but they didnt turn tornadic. Strong winds apparently took down some trees but nobdy hurt.
