when I search online for a new idler arm I am only finding a rare parts chassis idler arm which is like $400 plus it looks like for other models like a 300, newport or new Yorker you can get them for $20-50 bucks depending on the brand is the rare parts chassis the only one that is available for 68 imperial Crown?

Some of the '68 and '67 Imperial front end parts are unique to that car, from other Chrysler C-body cars. Which makes Rare Parts' items more expensive and possibly the only source for them. Might check on the web.imperialclub.info/Parts/Index.htm page for information, too (something about browser cookies led me to this place). DetMatt?

Check with Craig @mobileparts. He is a member here and has a vast inventory and knowledge about these parts for our beloved old cars. (516)485-1935. If you leave a message he always returns your call. Except maybe when the Islanders & Penguins playoff game is on.:poke: Sorry Craig, I couldn't resist. :D Lets Go Pens!!

Mr. Fury68,
Well, at least we didn't SWEEP you, like last year....
But, game 4 was joyous indeed, and now we are tied 2 - 2...
Game 5 in your house later tonight...

How did you like those "Jar-ry, Jar-ry" chants I started ???
Could you hear them loud and clear ????
Let's Go Islanders !!!! With Love, and a clean hard hit to
Cindy Crybaby, Craig......
(She wears # 87, in case you wondered who Cindy Crybaby is !!!!)

Ah yes, idler arms..... one of many "banes" for a '67 - '68 Imp owner. Due to the extended front clip, the front end (and most associated parts) are unique to the car. Don't assume it's the same as for other C-body cars as it seldom is. These have always been one of the hardest to source. I'd try to have yours remanufactured. Probably more of a logistics hassle, but may wind up being less costly this way, and at least you'll KNOW it fits.

A freind of mine who has a 68 imperial conv who needed a idler arm was asking me for one from a 67 imperial conv in my backyard. He was telling me that convertible idler arms were somehow different? Anybody can confirm that? He wound up getting his rebuilt.
