Hey all! This is a bit of an addition to my “color quest” thanks to all who replied to my previous thread. I’m trying to see some various red Mopar colors and what they are if you know it! Looking forward to seeing some beautiful rides. I can’t seem to find any 77-1 Ruby Poly colored rides off google images... eager to see what it looks like

Try www.TCPGlobal.com or www.hamtreamck-historical.com "Library" for the various Order Guides and such with color swatches in them. Might not be really accurate, due to computer monitor issues, but an idea. Plus the Eaton Detroit Spring "Links" for sales brochures.

Enjoy!

This one is RR-1 burgundy poly, but that's pretty close to the color on the '67 Newport you posted in the other thread.

I think I have some photos of an original paint Ruby red poly car on my other computer. The code was actually QQ-1 on the Chryslers in 1967. 77-1 may have been available on Chrysler in 1966 but became an Imperial only color in '67.

only other car besides mine that I have seen the color combination of RR1 Burgundy Metallic (‘68 Dodge) with the white vinyl top. Bright during the day and dark at night.

I never really thought about that, but you are right, it's not a common color combination. Most of the 1968 burgundy Chrysler products have black vinyl tops, with no vinyl being second place, and white vinyl the least common.

Sadly, the '68 300 in the photos is proof that you can polish a turd. The car is in way, way worse shape than those photos make it look. I had just buffed out the paint on the car to make it look better, but that didn't do anything for all the rust under the vinyl top and the rotted cowl. You also can't see how wavy the body is. One side is Bondo from bumper to bumper and I think the other side the quarter and door are all plastic. The photos were taken around 1994, and I actually still have the car, but it's destined to be a parts donor some day.
