Is a 1968 chrysler marine 440 compatible with 71 monaco??

In a really funny coincidence, I ran into an old buddy of mine's son yesterday at a "Cars and Coffee" get together. Next to his car (his late dad's A12 SuperBee) was a '65 Coronet 500 and it belonged to a relative of his. They got talking about the '65 having a marine 440 engine! One thing that they mentioned was that the marine stuff was always hand selected and checked. I don't know how much truth there is to that, but I thought of this thread.

I didn't take this pic, but it's from yesterday. The red '65 has the "marine" 440.

I sod al the marine specific parts, you would be surprised what you can get for them. Paid for the motor twice!

I got it on a stand. I'm about to take it apart. How did you sell those parts? Individually or as a package? What did you sell them for?

Now wait a minute. Have you ever driven a High Compression 383 - 2V ? The engine was available from 1959 -- 1964. Try a stock 64 300 Sport Series with this engine dual exhaust and a 3:23 Sure Grip. I never put a stop watch to it but I won many street races with it.

When I lived “up-north” my boss had a 40’ CrissCraft Constellation with twin 440s. Man that thing could get you the length of West Bay in a hurry! With twin “fighting chairs” in back we entertained a lot of customers. Then he would wind that thing up heading for “Miller Time”. The GM guys loved the sound of those things runnin’ wide open.
