Carlisle 2021

Buttercup will in all likelihood not be completely ready for Carlisle after all, but Medina will be (minus the A/C, as the shop on which @71Polara383 and I had been counting is booked solid through July).

--> By popular request, I will therefore bring Medina to the 1971 reunion. @MAGNUM77 is getting my other pass for his 1971 blue Polara sedan, and he and I will meet up in Streetboro, OH to head out to Carlisle. That'll be two 1971 senior Dodges at the 50th reunion, and I am sure there will be more.
--> Buttercup will attend next year, at the 50-year reunion of the 1972 C-bodies.

PS: this year's will be the first Carlisle show that Poppy, my 1970 Polara 'vert, will miss since I bought her. She is ready and willing to go, but the logistics won't work out this year.

seems like I will not be able to bring red paint as the US does not allow people to travel from europe (even though I am fully vaccined) :-(

This is a real bummer (your not coming, not the lack of paint).

FWIW
This is what we were listening to in July ‘71 on “Keener 13 AM” junior year h.s.
FM stereo was just taking-off here in the “D”.

:wtf:, I went on the Carlisle website and I no longer see John's '71 GT. What gives, did he retract his invite?

Squatting at my spot again?
After reading this I realize Jeff must have safety zones across the fairgrounds.
Great guy. Glad he likes cheap beer!
I always made him bring his own. I presume that's why he never stayed too long.
For the record... I never stayed too long in any location because it's Carlisle and there's too much to see and too many folks to visit. I am always happy to provide beer for folks when they're near my cooler, but am eternally grateful for all those folks who make it so I don't have to drag a cooler around with me. :thankyou:
Dave was always good for a gatorade or water...

No need for spanish. Just American bucks. Or a cute ***.
Tell em I'm your cousin and they will send you to me. I'll take ya to Carlisle.

A couple other items of interest. I have limited space to haul large and heavy items. Will deliver to Carlisle if prepaid.

11 inch finned rear drums, pair, already cut, plenty of material. 10 inch 67/68 right front drum, new studs. Wheel covers are sets, except first shown. PM with questions or requests.

A tip for the first timers. It's difficult to imagine the scope of the swap field. Carry a notepad and pencil/pen with you. Rule of thumb, if you find something your looking for, or need.... buy it then, likely won't be there when you return. If your not sure and need to verify, write down the space number.

In addition to what Will said:

Go through the swap meet with someone who is knowledgeable on your car(s) and the correct parts for them if that is possible.

I recommend bringing something to carry parts in. A Granny style shopping cart can hold a lot. Just get one with either steel or flexible plastic wheels. There are usually vendors there that sell them.

Go to ebay and buy the crash book pages for the body and trim parts for you car(s) or download something with part numbers and diagrams.

Bring a list including part numbers for the parts that you seek. I will have some old collision repair books with me with part numbers but with superceded part numbers sometimes their are no guarantees and when it comes to C Body parts very few of the parts vendors know them and most think if a part fits one C Body for a particular year it will fit all of them, which is not the case in most circumstances.

Most importantly, Carlisle offers a pick up and delivery service for large and/or heavy parts. Look through you show brochure for the number and use it.

I will be in space J179 across from the left rear of Building T. Look for lime green tents. If I have the time, and have parts info for your car I will look it up.

I'm attending for the FIRST time. Do you guys know anything about Thursday swap meet shopping? As a professional spectator can I get in? Thanks for any advice.
