Hi guys!

Just an interesting U-Joint theme:

Mine are NOT 7290(3 5/8") nor 7260(3 1/8"), nor 1310 (3 1/8") nor 1330 3 5/8") , mine are something between:
the cap of the 7290 and 7260 is 1 1/8" diameter, the cap from the 1310 and 1330 is smaller 1 1/16" diameter.

Mine are: 3,5" wide with 1 1/16" caps - original from spicer.

I am not able to find these U-joints.

So I bought 1330 U-joints and shortened the width of them....:icon_silent:
but now it is hard to get them centered at(in?, onto..), the yokes.

Anybody an idea where to buy?

Thank you for your help.

a little bit confusing indeed, I know.

I spent a lof time to check the differences of them, but it is easier than written.

the wider ones are 1330 or mopar 7290 with 3 5/8
the smaler ones are 1310 or Mopar 7260 with 3 1/8"

the Mopars cap diameter are 1 1/8" , the 13xx have smaller caps with only 1 1/16"- that`s all.

What are the dimensions and where is the lock up of the joint at the shaft itself , and then what are the dimensions of the end yoke or slip yoke and where is the lock up ?

Or post pictures of all parts you're having a issue with

Are you located in Mastic Beach, NY?

Good. I thought it was just me. LOL.

sorry or my late reply.

only the driveshaft has 3,5" wide u-joints diamensions, the pinion yoke and the slip yoke have 3 5/8" one than usually. outer snap rings at the driveshaft. But there are a lot of "conversation u-joints availiable, but nothing with 3,5"....

Tomorrow I will make pics for you,

Heli

If the pinion and the slip yoke is 3 5/8, someone has swapped an off brand driveshaft in. Best thing would be to either find a correct driveshaft or better yet, have a new one built. Probably the same $$ as screwing with conversion joints.

Yes take the pics, and take them from looking at the shaft from the side, and then looking straight down the shaft at the weld yoke, and same with the slip yoke and end yoke please.

. Once i can see everything i can see what you have or what happened.

here are the pics, you requested.

I also checked it with the manual, and the driveshaft looks identically.

Is it possible, that they have used different driveshafts with 3,5" u-joints?

OK whats confusing here is, you're showing me pics of a shaft in the car and the end yoke in the car that are rusty.

Then im seeing pics of a end yoke and weld yoke that are powder coated..

So what im seeing in the car appears to be 1330 at the shaft, i cant see the slip yoke, but that is also all spicer, whats odd is the damper on a spicer shaft, the damper is a detroit thing, not a spicer thing.

The end yoke in the pic with the shaft looks like a 7260 detroit, as does the end yoke that is powder coated.

The measurement of 3.5" is about the dimensions of a 1330 and 1350 ser spicer, the cap dimension of the 1330 is 1.063", the 1350 is 1.188"
The 7260 is 1.078" you have there, the 7290 is 1.126" , the 7260 is 2.1" and the 7290 is 2.6" at the inside lock dimension which is measured between the end yoke

I would like to see a pic of the front shaft showing more of the slip yoke and the front side of the weld yoke ahead of the damper ring.

.

Sorry for confusing you, I forgot to tell you that I have taken 2 pics before the resto and the other 2 are during the resto.
The pinion yoke was changed to a 7290 one so the measurment is not ok, my fault.
Confusing at it´s best AND wrong pictures, too....Heli, what are you thinking?
You are used in U-Joints, great, only less people are used to.

I will take the pics during the next weekend, because I
Thank you for your help!

If you have a 7290 end yoke then lets concentrate on the shaft, most likely it is 1330 series at the shaft and then you'll need a 5-7437x or 5-797x joint

Thank-you Very much, where could I get them , are this Spicer or Dana ones?

Thank you very much, I am in austria, Europe, we do not have these kind of shops. ;-(

I thought, I would buy this from a supplier inside the USA,
