Cruise-in, Beavercreek Ohio (NFS). Mostly original, believe he said one repaint in the 80's.Think it's a 361/Torqueflite. Swivel seats. Don't see many of these around, let alone in this condition. Very cool . . . !

EDIT: Spoke with the owner a little more last evening. It's a 383 car, not 361. I encouraged him to join our forum . . .

Excellent! - one of my favorite Forward Look cars. Wish I had one.

Their styling was borderline outrageous. Only Virgil Exner could have gotten that way-out design past managment.

The Polara was top of the line but the Matador was one step down. Here is a YouTube video of a Matador (it seems most of such videos have unusual guys narrating them, so you have to grin and bear it):

That space age styling is something to behold. Virgil Exner really had it going on! Such a beautiful car.

There sure is alot going on stylistically with this model. I don't believe I've ever seen one. The front bumper is a bowtie for crying out loud! Talk about class!

You should see the interior of one. Over the top like the exterior.

That is one outrageous ride, never heard of or seen the matador. Musta been a bit of wacky tabaccy consumed at those late nite design workshops. Very cool.

Beautiful car. Note the Batmobile beside it.

There was a 1960 Desoto for sale a couple blocks away once, long ago (very late 80’s/early 90’s). I and my Grandfather kept trying to call the number listed, went to the house repeatedly.

No one ever answered the phone except to say “It’s in the back yard, go take a look at it”.

It was complete, swivel seats, needed paint.

Couldn’t get ahold of anyone after that and a few days later it was gone from the yard.

The Charles Phoenix video of the similar wagon (in the list on YouTube) is at least as good as the Matador. The wagon even has dual a/c.

Space Age styling, for sure, as Chrysler built the Redstone rockets that put our astronauts into space back then. Air intakes (the headlights) feeding the engines with the "thrusters" side panel contours leading to the tailights (output), with that little wing for stability. Pretty neat NOW for something that was somewhat common back then.

Enjoy!
