Look for the dual exhaust tail pipe hangers for 1970 C-bodies. Part number 3404038. These came on all 1970 N & U code C-bodies as well as T code Polara/Monacos & Furys

Will buy one or more. Preferably NOS but used is ok.

Thanks!

Try a tempest search a few different ways. I saw some somewhere not long ago looking for ignition parts. Not sure where though.

The hangers are very hard to find NOS.

But I have a solution...

I know a guy....

is the rubber shared with other hangers? the bracket looks easy to fabricate.

Alan

Easy is a relative term Alan.

Maybe not in your garage with a mallet and vice.

Most any good fab shop should be able to duplicate, I'll check with my neighbor when he gets back from vacation, he runs the local fab shop in town.

And if you have the bracket less the rubber then you may be able to replace the rubber.

Alan

I'm betting the rubber is the biggest reason you would need replacement hangers.

Yes, but if the reproduce a different hanger with the same rubber then you should be able to swap it out. Or find an NOS or used hanger that has the same rubber and swap it.

I bet the same rubber is used on other hangers.

Alan

99.9% sure the rubber bushing is the same for all the tail pipe hangers from that era. I will double check the A-body ones I have at home. The part number for the bushing is molded into the rubber iirc.

Metal fab with a vice and rubber mallet? Seriously? That’s pretty low expectation for metal fab.

Can’t wait to compare quality with your fabraicator.

Those are the NOS ones you got years back correct? They came out absolutely beautiful Trev!

No they are not NOS. They are EXACT reproductions.

I deal with reproduction parts every day and some fabricated stuff from the US too. Rarely if ever, are the parts EXACTLY as factory and rarely do they fit, let alone work.

If you got a guy that can make them, count me in for a few! Saves me the trouble of having to do them myself lol.
