1975 Chrysler Town & Country Station Wagon
This is a very well preserved 1975 Chrysler Town & Country station wagon (Sixth generation 1974–1977). I bought this car at the beginning of the summer and have been sorting out all the details and enjoying the smiles of people as I drive by. It comes with a large stack of records, original owner’s manual and some other historical documents (see photos). I have become a bit of a wagon nut (wagon fever) and now I am passing this one along to put money into another wagon.
The link here will take you to additional photos to see the car in greater detail.

Engine & Automatic Transmission: It's powered by a rebuilt 440 engine and a 727 automatic transmission. 1993 Rebuild was at 126,000 current mileage is 149,435 so 23,435 on the new motor. Breaks are all good 80%. Below is a list of new work I have done this summer and it runs out very very smooth.
- New carburetor (Holly) the original carb will also come with the car.
- Front shocks, I bought 4 shocks but the rear self-leveling system is working fine and did not need anything.
- Rear kids seat foot well reinforced
- New fuel pump & New oil pump
- New spark plugs and manifold gaskets
- Fluids all changed
Body: Body panels are all straight. The car originally had the vinyl wood paneling on the sides but at some point in its life that was replaced with a two-tone paint job. Glass is all in great shape, chrome is very nice. The paint is in very nice shape, there are a few small chips but the exterior is truly immaculate and the color and condition show the great lines of the car. Tires are in exceptional condition with minimal tread wear.
Interior: You can see from the photos that the interior is free of any rips or tears. Power door locks, power brakes, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, power windows cruise control, air conditioning,(not currently working). Nice door panels, headliner, carpet, dash pad, and seats have no cracks or tears. It is truly a time capsule when you sit inside.
Summary:
This was the most expensive station wagon you could buy in its day. They were driven by the wealthier citizens with big families and used for hauling kids, towing boats, etc… Most were not well maintained and that is one reason why they are so rare but their rarity truly comes from the smaller sales numbers. This is a nice example of an American Car Icon in an era of big luxury. it must be seen in person to truly appreciate this car.

Very nice T&C!!!

I wonder if it has factory air ride or aftermarket air shocks. I know the air ride was available for the first time in 1975 Imps......I don't know if that option was available in 1975 NY'er and T&C's???

Hey Uncle Bob,
Would you buy me that wagon?

It was available right across the entire line up.
Now find me a Newpie with one...

I'll bet it would be easier than finding one with ATC.

Has anyone ever seen a Formal Newport with Automatic Ride Control?

I would prefer that you install fender skirts and wood grain prior to dropping it off. Thanks.

No problem.....

My 21 year topless Green Bay Packer chauffeur will drop it off with a full tank of Sunoco 260. LOL!

Definitely not. I'm a pure stock guy myself. Nothing ruins a cute girl like big fake tits.....

You don't seem to mind, Chris?

So I call the guy down the road late last week, to come pick up some goodies I had laying around without a useful purpose, knowing he'd have one for em.

He's a Mopar guy and a military equipment collector too, and first thing he see's of course is the camo chute thru my open door. From 25ft away, he asks "72?" without a single visual cue unshrouded. Now, I didn't know he really knew Mopars, just drives em, and works like a dog every day of his life... I'd helped him get his old 68 RR's AVS tuned in so his boy could drive it to prom most recently.

He proceeded to tell me that hidden in the barn for many years now, behind a duck, and Jeeps, and god knows what,,, is a 1976 Royal Monaco wagon with 18K on the clock! I hope to be getting a look soon....;-)

I like them stock myself, especially if they never needed any mods to begin with.

Matt? You're a lucky man, post up some pics of that wagon. I'm sure we'd all love to see it.
