Remove dash switches 1968 fury

I was afraid of that. I worry about desterbing the wiring. Question, is there enough slack in the wires to pull out to disconnect gages.
 
Get a factory service manual if you don't already have one. It has the wiring diagrams and the color of the wires and what they go to. There will be some slack in the wires for you to work with. To pull the cluster you first need to disconnect the speedo cable and if it is a column shift you will need to disconnect the shifter indicator linkage. You will need to realign shift indicator when you put it back together so it reads correctly in P R N D 2 1. Good luck.
 
No input on the best way. Small hands...small screwdriver. You gonna have lots of scrapes and cuts. Been there done that...
 
Be sure to disconnect the battery, very easy to short across the alt. gage wires. Speedo cable needs to be accessed from underneath, tight spot.
