Good day my fellow Moparians. Looking for your help in how to search / find information on the original owner of my 77 sunroof New Yorker. So a quick backstory on the car, there was a picture of it posted here in late 2018, through the diligence of a couple of members here I was able to locate the second owner of the car, and threw him I located the third, and from there the fourth from which I purchased the car from.
From the second owner I was able to obtain the original owners son’s name, (Darin Crispin). The car was originally purchased in Pennsylvania, I don’t have a town name, only the state. This is where my well runs dry.
Which is where I hope some more internet knowledgeable people other than myself on here can help me locate Mr. Crispin. Now I understand that there may be multiple people throughout the country with his name, but if I can at least get pushed in the right direction, I’ll take it from there.

thanks in advance for your time and efforts

Pretty cool that you have been able to find that much info. I've been able to get back to the original families on two of my cars over the last few years hoping to get ahold of some original pictures of my cars. No fruit so far for me, but I've made contact.

For your tracing, I think you need a little more info about Darin (Darren) Crispin in PA. Rough age could help. Any chance you can look back at titles or registrations for locations or names? Maybe do a VIN search.

I can contact the 2nd owner, whom of which gave the name. Maybe he has a bit more info… if he doesn’t! Then the name is all I have. even considered that spelling of Mr Crispin’s first name was odd, thought that may help narrow the search, but again! That’s the way it was passed in to me, so that’s the way I posted it.. we’ll see.

Saw that John, but the first name spelling made me 2nd guess, suppose I could send an email and see what comes back.
That guy was 11 years old in 1977, its not him. Could possibly be dad or another relative. If you can get any additional information and clarification on spelling, it would help a lot. I've done a lot of family history searching and I am pretty good at finding people.

"Darin Crispin" is the name of the original owner's son. If he was 11 in '77 it might be a good lead as dad would have likely been in his 30-40s and of Chrysler buying demographic at the time.

Did a web search and found couple email address’s. Sent emails out, we’ll see if anything comes back. The search had his first name with the typical spelling, not as I posted.. the second owner is confident of the name spelling, so! We’ll see.

if ANYONE has a better way of finding him, PLEASE let me know. I’m not the brightest crayon in the box when it comes to the the interweb. Lol

I sent a very kindly written message to him on Facebook asking if he knew anything. If he replies i will let you know, and i'll try and get his phone number so you can talk. Sometimes people never see messages from strangers though its a 50/50 shot.

Wow, thanks so much. Fingers crossed

@75LandYacht curiosity, what are you hoping to get/happen if you can track down the original owner/family?

I assume pictures of the car and/or surviving documents, which is what I've been trying to get for two of my cars.

My Challenger had 7 names on the pink slip when I bought it in 1986. I'm going to guess that I'll never know anything about it.
Good luck, hope it pans out for you.

Yes sir, exactly that. Any information he / they may on the cars origination. I was told by the 2nd owner / husband purchased the car for his wife who loved an enjoyed the car for many.. and that He was the owner of the dealership the car was bought.. just want whatever info / documents, if any they can provide.

Well fellas, I am ecstatic to report that the son of the original owner has been found. I spoke to the son of the original owner for about 45 minutes today. And he was excited to hear that the car is still on the road and being cared for. Unfortunately his father passed away in the early 2000s and his mother a few years after. He remembers the car fondly, and believes he has some of the original paperwork and even family pictures of the car from back in the day. His father owned the Chrysler dealership, Berwick Motor Club in Berwick Pa. He order the car for himself as he often did every couple of model years, then passing them / it on to his wife to drive until the next hand me down from her husband, she then gave it to her son. The family owned the car from New until 1987 when the dealership was sold shortly after in early of 1988.
I just wanted to thank the member who’s diligence and website savvy was able to locate the owners information and passing it on to me in a PM. I really am grateful to you sir..
I’ve emailed the original owner some current pictures of the car, he states he’s going to do some digging through the family files and give me what he fines. Once I have the documents and/or pictures of my hot little hands, I’ll be happy to share and post pictures.

thanks again to everyone that took the time to help me with my venture.

That is awesome. I am so glad to see that everything came together! I will be watching with excitement to see what comes up. Having the history on an old car is just the cherry on top.

Here's a tale for you! I owned a factory 1969 Dart GTS 440 with front disc brakes, this back in 1988. It was a restored car that I bought From a guy in Farmington, NM sight unseen, based on two Polaroid pics. He had a 1970 Superbird 440 4-speed car that I was originally interested in, but he had just sold that. He delivered the car to me in Oklahoma, with all that he knew on the car...plus the names of three previous owners. As this had front discs on it, I had assumed someone added them, as the 440 cars were not available with them (never say never!). I began contacting the previous owners. Remember, this was 1988. No Interwebz or any of that. Just a telephone, and paper and envelopes!

Long story short, I found that the Dart had had EIGHT previous owners in 20 years! I found the original owner in southern Utah. He was surprised to hear from me and that the car still existed. All of the other previous owners said the car had disc brakes. So the original owner, when asked., said "oh, yes, I remember that car top to bottom!" and he confirmed he took delivery of the car from a Utah Dodge dealer.

This was also in the day when doing a title search was quite easy, even in other states. I got info from the PO's that the car went from UT to AZ, stayed there with two owners, went to NM again, then CO, then NM again, where it stayed through the remaining owners. The car was T5 Bronze Metallic with a black top and white butt stripe originally. It had been bronze, then Silver, then bronze, then silver again before the man I bought the car from, restored it correctly...with a black butt stripe instead of the white.

I have a very good idea where it is now.
