After almost getting my hands on a woodgrain wheel I started looking a little harder but the price (with horn and everything) was too much right now so I got one that arguably looks like it. Since I'm getting more woodgrain in the near future with a console I figured a respectable wood wheel was in order. There are lots of options out there but usually what turned me off of the aftermarkets was the overly glossy wheels and the cheap chrome horn button. After finding a wheel in mat I then found some pieces to make a high rise horn button like stock. Here it is. I can send links to the parts but the mat wheel is on back order. The center Plymouth emblem I made myself and the 1" spacer below the metal horn housing is a...hockey puck. Fit nicely. Its not as red in person as the pics show. The center console is a mahogany reddish sticker so not too far off. When I redo the dash insert I'll make sure it not brown but more mahogany. Anyway just throwing it out there as an option.

Thanks, thats funny and not too bright of me. Not paying attention I guess. An example is on my dash. I can twist it around no problem.

Looks good. I hope this isn't a lot of work to correct, but the Plymouth emblem is upside down.

Its very easy to correct upside-down steering wheels. Just unbolt the rag-joint coupling, turn the wheel over, then re-attach the coupling. 4 bolts and nuts, plus the shield if you still use it.

But his steering wheel itself is not upside-down. The orientation of the spokes is good.

Fixed it. The wheel is a standard 3 bolt Grant/generic wheel that has been seen many times. Install kit is a Grant 4313. The horn button is a GT performance GT3 High Rise button. And the hockey puck is NHL approved. GT performance does make a spacer but its only 1/2". I wanted taller.

Ah, so 'twas! I've thought about putting a Grant in Mathilda, leaving me free to refurbish and restore the old original. Seems the accepted technique is epoxy filler, then sand and spray paint with a good glossy acrylic. This I can do, with time....

You did a damned fine job!

Thanks, but if you are talking about maybe needing another horn emblem I'm good. Just turning the entire horn fixed it. I have an original emblem but didnt use it. I used is a digital picture of the original covered with a clear resin. Like a wheel center cap. The original emblem would not fit the horn I got. and stuck out too much
