Hey guys,
When I open up the forums, there is no homepage anymore? Does anybody else have this problem? The rest of the website works completely normally.
Thanks,

I don't have full information yet. My techs and I have been working on this for about 18 hours straight. First priority is to get everything running. Then survey and deal with any losses.

Long story short, what happened to the best of my knowledge is we were doing some upgrade maintenance on the server cluster and there was a catastrophic collapse and corruption of data. We had to restore from a backup, and for some reason we had to go 11 days back to get a clean backup. (not sure why so far back) I'll make a post with all the important details once I know them all.

Really too bad this problem couldn't be resolved without going back eleven days. The tribute thread to BIGBARNEYCARZ posted by @cantflip appears to be missing. It is the only big loss for me. I hope it can be salvaged or re-posted.

I will restart it once everything is settled

@Joeychgo - do you think there is any hope of getting the last 11 days back at this point? Just wondering if I should restart some threads I had going about led bulbs and reverse light switch, or hold on to some optimism that you can recover that information.
Thanks!

Not Joey, but you'd probably want to give him a minute to see what he can recover after he gets a handle on this problem... right now they're still doing triage trying to get all of the sites running again.

Wonder if all the missing days will get restored, I had some purchases in my inbox and now those messages are gone.
Frankly, I don't know right now. Best to assume they won't, but I don't have full information yet. My techs and I have been working on this for about 18 hours straight. First priority is to get everything running. Then survey and deal with any losses.

Fun thing happening... every time I hit my alerts button I'm directed to the RRonly sign in page

WHAT SERVER ENVIRONMENT are you running? Look at what your server is attempting to do to mine.

This appears to be a SERIOUS viral infestation on your end, Good Buddy, which you have yet to address. I suggest the following:

1. Boot a SAFE rescue medium, like an optical drive with a GOOD FREE OPERATING SYSTEM, such as *BSD or a NON-CORPORATE GNU/LINUX environment, complete with suitable anti-viral software such as ClamAV. You can probably use KNOPPIX for this, which is a fairly well known Live GNU/Linux system. I run Slackware myself.

2. Scan your backups from the past 2 weeks also.

3. Get an alternate machine ready, with a clean OS install and CLEAN webpages running, sans user accounts.

4. Start restoring accounts after the data has been certified clean by your scans.

Anyway, I see that Google Chrome runs the FCBO pages alright, for now, though Firefox still complains, as you see from my screen capture.

I suppose I can reboot my server, as it has an uptime of 3 days, and with the kernel upgrade it might be wise to reload the modules. IFF I get a clean session after this, I won't bother you further, but I expect to be bugging you again, soon.

I hope you get your server WELL restored to SAFE function.

Gerald
