For some reason I can't get the pics to upload, will try another method or somebody else can add them

What am I missing? @Tobias74 — are Canadian prices falling because of the export ban, or are slabbies much cheaper than fusies?

:) Car is close to US border[/QUOTE]

Car is just north of saskatoon. Fair ways north of international border.
I talked to the owner last fall. He runs "vintage auto sales" Peter. Good guy.
If memory serves he has had this car for a few years. His personal favorite.
Regarding canada prices.
I bought this 66 300 tnt disc brakes , minty condition 69 thou original miles, 2 owners, recently for less money
Yes the engine is supposed to be turquoise. Guy I got from painted it red.
And yes door panels were originally white. Original owner installed black panels many many years ago.

US-built 66 300 2-door hardtops and convertibles were sold in Canada as the "300 sport", for more money of course.

That does seem like a decent price, and in CDN $ too. Looks like a non-original paint colour and the pics are low-resolution so it could be a bondo-buggy. Engine should be turquoise, has wrong valve covers and air cleaner. Thermostat housing, power steering pump and bracket are correct though. I suspect the engine has been replaced.

That looks very nice! Disc brakes with the factory-correct master cylinder but someone has swapped-in a non-disc booster. :(

Odd, the car doesn't have A/C but it has the A/C style 22" rad. Non-A/C rad has the inlet in the middle (see the engine compartment of the red car), not off to the passenger side.

The 26" heavy duty rad was a separate option in 66. You didn't automatically get a 26" rad when ordering A/C, though most people ordered them together, but I had a parts car with A/C and 22" rad.

I have read it ssid that the "sport coupe" could not be had with AC..
Kinda the same thinking as no hemi cars got AC
66 was interesting year at Chrysler. First year for street hemi. First year of the non letter 300. First year for 440.
Chrysler seriously considered the street hemi in the 300 sport coupe.
I now have 2 J code 66 300's.
If I could find a sponsor I would swap a 426 in one of them

I have been told that only the 365 horse j code 300's qualified as a "sport coupe"
Can anyone conferm this?

Canadian prices falling because of the export ban

Tobi just told me about this the other day. Just another reason to punt that MF Child out of Ottawa for good on Monday!:mob:

Do you have a link to the relevant government policy on this?

No. I am quoting @Tobias74 on this new Heritage Canada rule. I searched online and could not find any mention thereof, but Tobias provided a source so I'll go with his statement as opposed to Google's lack of info.

The **** you learn around here is amazing.
Unfortunately it always comes from someone old.
Sorry if some of us were not around at the time to get the info first-hand :poke:

Seriously, this is one of the reasons why this site is great as an (informally curated) aggregator of information. The worry is that some (cue the recent server crash) or all of it could disappear -- so saving the info on one's own device(s) is IMHO a good idea.
