NOT MINE 1969 Dodge Polara $3500 Leduc Alberta (face book market place)

What has brought about this change in Canada?

I can see the logic from one perspective. In the U.S. over the last 10-15 years the Japanese and the Europeans have absorbed a massive portion of collective offerings.
It absolutley sucks because it will never be the same, especially in vintage American motorcycles. But I'm also seriously vested in property rights. The thought of the government thinking that they are co owners in my old cars gets me in a into a fury that Plymouth could never match. A good commie is a dead commie comes to mind... or how about some government sponsored shop space for these cars that we own? Lets invest in our heritage right?..

But on the other hand, all those countries seem to care for the machines better than here. Other than the Japanese modify everything for those that care about that.

However, in the last year or two I have learned a lot about the Canadian car scene mainly through youtube. There are just way more derelict cars up there. It seems like the late 80's here as far as cars sitting around.
Maybe due to remoteness, cars were not crushed in the volume they were here.
But it seems that they are now crushing in full force? How does Canadian Heritage like that?

The guys on Coldwar Motors are paying scrap weight for cars all the time. They were recently at a major scrapping operation and the stuff in the crush was heartbreaking and mind blowing. Baling piles of 100 year old wheels. Those things bring crazy money here. The people that want them for yard art and antique fodder have ran the prices above what car guys want to pay for them.

I wonder if this was a knee jerk reaction to the exchange rate of the past year?

Buying a Canadian car was a nobrainer for a minute. Until covid ruined it. There were a few I would have loved to grab.

So much for my dream of a 66 windsor or any car with a red big block....

....
Am I glad I got mine over New Years, I'd be crushed if I had to deal with the current regulations.
I should be good to sell mine to one of you guys. Imported from CA less than 20 years ago, and I still have the CA title in hand.

I should be good to give all my cars to the neighbors kids and buy that 300. That thing is banging.
