I got a 73 Newport. I’m curious what you guys do for cup holders because I sure like having a place to put my drink. The current situation is putting a cold drink between the legs isn’t working out namely because I can’t feel anything anymore and I end up looking like I pissed myself.

Build one. This is mine that goes on the trans hump not the seat. It has a cutout for the floor shifter that most people done need. Its time to use all those scrap wood pieces that you have saved! And get one of those fake yetis from walmart. I'll will keep ice all day and no condensation on your crotch.

These were very popular in the 1970s, when it was considered fashionable to carry one's coffer with you. Just the right size for a can of soft drink, too. Would NOT handle a styrofoam max-size convenience store soft drink, though. OR the somewhat popular floor consoles (anchored by sand bags on each side) with cup holders and such in it.

Just be advised that the referenced item will NOT hold the drink can firmly, so it can rattle around and the positioning of the drink slot can be important, too.

Just some thoughts,

This was a problem in my Newport. Go out for shakes or something and you'd have to ask for a drink carrier and brace it on the floor against the seat, and drive slow. However, my station wagon came with a plastic center console that sits on top of the transmission tunnel. I've searched for something like it online to show you, but nothing is similar. It's just a rectangle with cupholders in the front and a half round bottom. It's a universal fit add on probably at least 35 years old. They used to sell them everywhere.

I really need to do something on both the Coronet and the Imperial. The Imp would be fairly easy, with the split front seat; but the Coronet and its console would be far more difficult. I had thought about taking an extra console glovebox lid and drilling one hole in the top, the same size as a cup base, then installing a plastic cup holder in that spot. Of course, that reduces the capacity of the console storage by at least a third, if not more. And cutting a hole like that in a console lid would be tough, considering the material that lid is made from.

The D300 is not a friendly truck to drive, while doing anything but driving the truck! Manual steering and a four-speed kinda require more attention to the road than my Passat does! Still might put something on the floor hump, like the roll of duct tape in a previous post here, and a wee more permanent.
