Its been a long day, but we are officially on the way home with the newest member of the family. Hubby and I left our house around 5:30 this morning and made our destination around 5:30 this evening. Took a couple hours to load up all the parts that came with it and the car and now we are heading home.

The young man we bought it from started the project with his Grandfather. I hope our finishing touches to the restoration do it the justice they were hoping for when they rescued it from the junkyard several years ago.

I'll post more once we get home. Can't wait to cruise around town in it!

When is hubby building the parking ramp?

That's a cool car, can't wait to see it.

Congratulations! I'm glad she's home now.

Where did you pick her up from?

Looking forward to more pics and details.

Did you drive the car home, or trailer it? In either case, you have a great project there. I wish you many years of fun!! Thats what this hobby is about-FUN! Enjoy and keep us posted. Lindsay

Haha, we were talking about where we could build another garage
I love the car so much! Not only does it look cool, but it sounds cool as hell too.

We still have about 8 hours to go. Picked her up in Mississippi and ended up stopping at a hotel for the night.

We are trailering it home from Mississippi to Illinois. I'm sure we will have many years of fun with the car, I dont see it ever leaving our collection. Its so fun the way it is now, really looking forward to re-doing the interior and finishing the body work.

Neat car! I see it has the "Top Turret" clock. Pretty rare in a Pioneer. I used to have a 60 Pioneer in High school. Have a 60 Phoenix now.
Looking forward to the resurrection.

My husband thinks the clock is neatest part of the car. The clock was completely redone a couple years ago so it actually works.

Here's some better day light photos from our trip home. There is body work that needs to be done and I'm going to re-do the interior in black/turquoise. The previous owner had the floors replaced and converted it from a push button to 3 speed.
A surprise that came with the car was the orignal seats (or at least what's left of them). I should be able to re-do them and it gives me an excuse to buy another sewing machine lol I just so happen to know someone with an old Singer industrial machine for sale.

I thought you were done buying cars, like six cars ago! Now I'm curious as to what you'll get next.

As the owner of a Pioneer and now a Phoenix, maybe you can answer a question I have.
I'm curious what the different options for the back window were called. When looking around online I noticed some have a much taller back window. Do you know what that option was called from the factory?
