Hi, I am looking at purchasing 15 inch rally’s wheels for a 1972 Fury 3. Will 7 inch fit? I have looked at several pages on this site, but still unsure. Thanks

If anyone has pictures of, 6,7 and 8 inch rally’s it will help make my decision. Any advise on tires appreciated too.

The widest Chrysler C-body wheel was usually 6.5" rim width, either 14" (earlier) or 15" (1970) AND usually on station wagons. Possibly some police vehicles. The 15x7 wheels, as pictured, were only on the E-body cars, from the factory. Normal C-body wheels were (post-power disc brake) 15x6, which is also the sizing of the earlier W23 Class II 16-Slot Road Wheels from 1970 and later. There were some one-year 15x7 W23-style wheels on Chrysler LeBarons, in about '77 or so.

"BACKSPACING" is important, too, rather than just rim width. There had to be a reason that Chrysler didn't use the 7" rim width on C-body vehicles. Other than just optional cost.

On the 15x7 wheels which are on my '77 Camaro, the backspacing on the 7" wide rim are supposed to be 4.25". Be CAREFUL how you measure the backspacing, too! I suspect that most of the repro Magnum 500s on B-body cars (which were not available on those cars in that rim sizing, when new) are either 4.25" or 4.00" backspacing.

On the '77-era Dodge Charger SE, the above-style wheel was available in 15x6.5" sizing. The smaller holes are for retention of the center cap, of which there are various ones for those wheels, from the earlier E-body cars and such. Possible salvage yard items? I ended up with a set on my '70 Monaco Brougham as "rollers" and they look pretty good, to me.

Enjoy!

I have 15 x 7 Road wheels on my '70 300 and they fit just fine.

Thanks. What tires size are you using on the 15 x 7.
The rears are 275/60-15 which is really too wide for that wheel, fronts are 235/60-15. The previous owner bought them and one of these days, I'll change to something else, probably a 235 or 255/70-15 all the way around.

Thanks for the replies. So general concesus is to have slightly larger tires on the rear?

Personal choice.

I'm probably going with the same size all around, but Dave makes a good point.

I can't really put less than a 275 on my cars, personal choice.
I've had factory 15x7 and 15x8 on my car as well as the aftermarket 15x8 now with 275x60 equivalents. I had to trim the lip a bunch to make the new ones fit.
A 7 " rim with 255 should fit about anything.

I just put 15x7 magnum 500 wheels from summitt on my 68 300 with cooper cobra 235/70-15's all the way around. Looks, sits and rides real good.

Car looks Real sharp! Wheels and whitewalls are perfect. I like the paint color, my 300 is burgundy, no vinyl top, yet. needs a repaint. Going to try and get some pics posted soon.

I know this is an old post but I just did exactly this, Rallye wheels 15x7 4 1/4 backspacing on 235/75/15 tires all the way around. Fits great no issues

and I have disc up front and drums on the rear.

Although the Rallye Wheels in 15x7 never saw C-body service, they do look pretty good on them. The forgotten about Rallyes seem to be the 15x6.5s that were on the '76-era Charger SE cars. Not being the 15x7 size, they should be relatively inexpensive in the salvage yards, I suspect. Just need the '70-era center caps (in either dark gray or the lighter gray color).

Just some thoughts,
