@1968Chryslers just wondering if theres been any kind of indication from Legendary if they are considering this or not ?
tx mark

GETTING back on topic here..... To answer your question @marko, my stepdad spoke with him (or 1968Chryslers) the other day about this as we REALLY want these for the S/23 and he has not heard anything yet.

I've had my '70 convertible for nearly 20 years, and I've always been amazed at the lack of an offering from Legendary Auto Interiors on '70-'71 Plymouth Fury seat covers, et. al. I've done quite a bit of business with them in the last year, and I've gotten to know their sales manager well. We spoke at Carlisle and he wants to gauge interest in producing '70 and '71 Sport Fury front bucket seat covers and rear seat covers. In conjunction with billyfury, who's willing to provide patterns to them, this project may actually become a reality.

So I've been bugging them about this for 15 years. How much interest is there? Vote below, and I'll send the results to Legendary.
I've been asking, badgering them for years. Then I bought 2 '68 300 interiors, and now they're interested. No matter to me, I just want to see them made.

I have a 1968 Fury III convertible and would love to have them make seat covers for me. They can make all the patterns they want, too! Where are they located?

the Wal Mart comment is directed at those whom are of the belief that companies like Legendary should have whatever is needed in stock on the shelf waiting...and not willing to pay the price $$$$$ for the seat covers with a limited market. Plenty of threads to show the tight wads. I have worked mopar retail and wholesale in the car dealer & restoration world - the Wal Mart comment is a known phenomena in the aftermarket and is discussed in marketing meetings.

No the masses are not aware of what it takes to re-manufacture seat covers. I have had several tours of Legendary a good while ago now - the owner was very gracious and candid about the cost of development. He is not paying minimum wage to the craftspeople who take 40-50 year old seat covers and make proper patterns and sewing the multiple items together so the new seat covers fit as original.

How many 70-71 sport fury's are left? Remember the 5% rule on non muscle cars.
How many are willing to pay $2000.00 for a full set of seat covers?

If you want Legendary to make covers bring some information and data to the table for the discussion.
They used to make a deal with the person supplying the seat covers - provide the seat covers and you paid much less for the covers. It takes a while to develop seat covers. correct color of material, many of the grains have to be reproduced- that requires molds to be manufactured so the pieces can be run and the grain embossed on specialized expensive equipment. Don't forget the thread type/color, piping colors and and sewing the inserts. A 5 or more needle commercial sewing machine let alone the machines that stitches it all together One set gets built from the patterns and the trial fit begins...sometime the patterns need tweaking, more development. Time = money

Where do I send my seat covers? I'm happy to help them!!!

I have a 1968 Plymouth Fury III convertible and need both front and back seats, plus the back arm rest/ashtray holders...

no...from the left coast dripping with impatience for ignorance and
lack of cognitive ability and reading comprehension by others. I may know a lot more about the mopar aftermarket than i let on to and i refuse to put up with the bs.

I need both front and back seats. The back seat has a speaker in it and the front one is split, with an arm rest. Was the 1968 wagon the same exact seats? Also, mine are the Metallic Red with fancy chrome dots.
