That is the odometer reset knob. You hafta push it in and turn it to reset the odometer back to zero.

passenger ejection button if on a bad date
I've always wanted one of those. No so much for bad dates but more so for fun with friends.
Ejection seats mess up the headliner, unless on a convertiblew with the top down.
"What a beautiful night it is tonight". Top goes down. "Ah, the feel of fresh air!" Hit the trip meter reset . . . more pocmarks on the back of the rh seat trim (from landing). Order new carpet, too.

That's a pretty crusty, rusty turn signal lever for a AZ. car if you ask me! What's the shift lever look like? Just sayin!!!

Judging by the OP location of Yulee, Florida, I don't think this car spent much time in Arizona. It may be a rust belt immigrant, like a lot of people in Florida. The AZ guy reposted the OP pic to point out the sandal on the driver's foot.
