Saw all I needed to see. I want it.

One of the best cars I have ever owned was a 69 Belair 2 door. 250 6 cylinder /powerglide. I got it from an 89 year old lady. The car had 33,000 miles on it & I drove it everywhere. I added dual exhaust & ralleys. Paid $500 for it. I sold it for $1300. The knucklehead that bought it cut the coils to the ground, put in a chain steering wheel, fringe from the windows and a few other things. Then he sold it to a guy that was pulling it on a car trailer and flipped it over. I still feel bad to this day that I sold that car.

Love that '68 SS Dave.......I doubt I will ever have something that nice in my garage

The only chevy on my "need to have" list is a 1967 Impala 427 SS hardtop. One of the few cars I would choose a hardtop over a convertible.

67 Full Size Chevrolets are my favorites too, Will.

4 speeds are aplenty (relatively) with the mid-sized cars. It's the full size that are unique.

Well, I won't be abler to find one either way - same problems, either junk or too nice. My lack of $$ doesn't help much either. Someone in MD had a '68 Impala or Caprice 4 spd wagon last summer, I forget what his name was.

how was the price Mark

asking 10,500

was only 1 other outside pic so tough to tell what cond it was really in. What is strange is that there was no 4 barrel version of the 300 so either a) he was wrong and it's a 2v, b) it is actually a 340-4, or c) he found a 4v manifold from another buick engine that fit on the 300 block (which is unlikely from what i've read of the buick 300).

My guess is it sold, the listing is no longer there, although it was around expiration when I saw it. I saved a copy of the ad.

You want the four speed for a reason, I would find that car in so-so condition and drive the hell out of it.

Yes, but that is easier said than done........you see what it took to find my Polara and get it here, and nothing else has surfaced since then.........well, same deal here. Does not have to be a rag, just a flr shift car with some zip - a driver.

The one I was looking at near me is too high priced for the condition it's in.

But with the polara your field was limited to only a few cars. This search has a broader spectrum

True, but we still have a limited # of cars with stick shifts, most of which are much more desirable than automatics - hence I am in the same position I was when shopping a few months ago.

Only a few months and the hand wringing has begun.
Will Mark ever find true happiness?

I hope Mark doesn't sell his white vert before we get to see it for the first time in Carlisle 2014....then he'll be looking for the next car for years. LOL!
