Production report says Canada built 338 convertibles, all for Canada. They had an engineering code of ED3-P. U.S. built Polara 500 convertibles had an engineering code of ED2-M. "Regular" Monacos were ED1-H & ED3-H.

Option & Accessory report says Canada sold 347 (obviously brought 9 in from Belvidere. Belvidere shows 13 LHD Export cars built, so the other 4 likely were exported out of North America.)

Of the 347 sold:

383-4V 49
440-4v 2

ALL were automatics. No manuals of any kind.

you wouldn't per chance have a break down for the 71 fury GTs or know where l can find?

Thanx

I love the numbers!

crazy..... where can we find this on oour own? or can we....???:sSig_thanks:

You can't unless you have copies of the reports. Even the experts say the numbers are unavailable due to fire, flood, lost paperwork. Kevin and a few others have a library of reports and documentation. So, the numbers are there but it would take a monumental effort to get them all together and out there

I have a 69 Monaco 500 convertible with the superlite.it came with a 383 4 barrel new.but somebody put a 360 2 barrel in it.my question is I have a chance to get a 69 440 for it.would I be better leaving it with the 360 or should I go with the 440 do you think

Always prefer a big block especially in a factory BB car. I like a 360 however..... But roll it to the BB...you won't regret it

Unfortunately, for your car, there is no Option & Accessory report. 1967 was the first year of the Autopact, and Chrysler (and probably other manufacturers operating in Canada) took a giant do-over and turfed all of their reports prior to the 1967 model year. And the stuff from 1967 up through the late 1970s only existed because the guy doing the reports at the time couldn't bring himself to throw that stuff out. Fortunately for me, his desire to preserve history and mine merged extremely well. I got a call from him that said "We've been ordered to clean out our cabinets to cut down on the `clutter'." So I promptly got my butt over there and it was the best Christmas in September I'd ever had. The fellow who worked on these early reports is still around and I'm overdue to call him up and either quiz him on the phone or take him out for lunch. I'll ask about the '66 & earlier stuff, but I'm pretty sure I've got my facts straight.

There is '66 and earlier info for the U.S. market, but a lot of it doesn't even break down to the body style, so for our purposes it's pretty much useless. I believe I got you the production numbers, and that's about as far as I can go.

another question is im planning on keeping the car.doing a complete rusteration on the car.how important is it to keep the original color.not a real fan of it.

If you're building it as a keeper, paint it whatever color you want.

In case of a future sale a colour change often makes the car less interesting for others
