72 Chrysler New Yorker Door Pull Strap

I'm looking for a green pull strap for my 1972 Chrysler New Yorker. The passenger front side is broken but I would assume that either driver or passenger side will work.......correct me if I am wrong.

I have blue ones for a 72 imperial.

Imperial pull handles will not work...NY was different. Any Pull from a two or 4 dr NY will work.

Here's the only pic that I have available. Looks like it might be a twin to your car from what I can see in your post. The car has been in our family since 1973 when my father bought it used. It's been garaged all its life.

I think 1970 and early 1971 Chryslers have the wider "leathery" door pull straps with squarish chrome bezels at each end. Later Chrysler have thinner, more solid "rubbery" door pull straps with thinner and longer bezels at each end with plasti-wood apliqué.

I hope you can decipher my gibberish, but I don't know how to better express myself other than with pictures which I don't have at hand. Or maybe an expressional dance would also work.

This is the 1970 style door pull strap. It is thicker and actually covered, and featuring real seams. I think some early 1971 Chrysler cars have that one, too.

This is the 1971 and later door pull strap. It is thinner and made from solid vinyl.

Interesting.... I think someone already put a 71 style in mine. That doesn't surprise me.

Either way... I bought the pair of 71's and I figure they are closer to right than the alternative of a generic pull strap.... or a piece of rope... LOL
