If you need it to be "correct", the '69 300 is different from the '70-'73 C-bodies. The '69 300 uses the same as '70-'73 Imperials while the '70 & up C-bodies have their own. Both styles will fit with a few small changes.

Correct for 69 is NO recovery system....... just an overflow hose swinging in the breeze.

I think 70 was the first coolant recovery installed in production. My system works fine until I hook the pop up camper to the car and hit a 7% grade for 8 miles in 95 degree heat. The coolant blows out of the overflow and eventually the sys overheats. I think a recovery system may eliminate the problem.

That it would. I will be interested to see how this turns out.

Oops! Yeah, forget everything I said. I don't know what happened there. :icon_redface: My coffee hadn't kicked in yet I guess. :laughing7:

I was thinking of the other plastic jug, the one for the windshield washer fluid. :)

Here is the one in my 70 300 coupe::eek:s_dancing2:

Just a thought...if your system is blowing out enough antifreeze to make it overheat you may want to get the cap tested or switch to a higher pressure cap.

Thanks, I did that. A new, correct for A/C, 14# cap.
The cooling system works great until extreme conditions like towing the camper, up a long mountain grade, on a very hot day.
If the coolant is recovered instead of blowing out of the overflow I think it will be ok, even then.

That might be why they came into production in 70.
