I was wrong...after looking up the Chrysler Canada bulletin, it appears that during the production run a "Chrysler 300 Decor Sales Code Package (Code A84 )" was indeed available with the the 360 2bbl and the 318 available.

Here's a pic of one of the few Chianti Red Cordoba 300's. Originally sold by Mac Lang Dodge Chrysler in Sunridge Ontario, Canada.

That's news to me about the 318, I've never laid eyes on a red one either, good stuff!

I have a lot of questions....

So.......there are only 5 left now....possibly.

Is that toasted red 300 in a Canadian junkyard?

Was the red option only offered in Canada?

Did the same Canadian dealer get and sell all 6 red 300's.

The red one was in a wrecking yard and was pulled out...current status unknown.

The bulletin was for Chrysler Canada, so I presume that all y'all got White E58 360 4bbl versions as spelled out on page one of the bulletin.

I don't know if the same dealer got all of the Chianti Red 300's...I doubt it.

I hope that red one was resurrected!

Thanks for the info!

I love where it says economically priced... I remember when I saw that one in the showroom, it was a tick over $9100! I have a copy of the window sticker for my 78 NYB I found in the glove box when I bought it. It stickered out at a paltry $10,600 lol ! A kings ransom back then. So my feeling is that the 79 300 was pretty damned expensive!
Ended up with a Spinnaker White/ Chianti Red 79 Duster.... $5300

Yeah, I think it was in a Canadian yard. Dale Burkhardt is the "expert" on the 79 300's.
He published a 25 page booklet with all things 79 300. It was VERY compete. $7.
He's a member of Chrysler 300 INC, but I would think he would sell to anyone.
My copy is @ 8 years old, I need a updated one.
It has all the unique 79 300 part numbers too!
There was an OLD site about the 79 300's that had pics of the front of that red one.
I will try to ressurect that URL if it still exists. Last update on it was 2009!
Dale also explains in detail about that Canadian option 79 300 with A84 and 318. Interesting

Glenn B (member) just purchased a T-top '79 300 from Texas. I seen the car and it runs and drives and is in pretty good shape. He plans on restoring it and repainting the car red. I told him to get his butt in gear, take pics now and put them on this site.

Great info. Thats the one i saw in junkyard. Haven't found old 79 300 link yet. still looking

This is exactly why I hate car shows. How bad does your life suck that you'd be willing to crash in that miserable hot assed weather rather than go home?

How bad does your life suck that you won't go outside because it's too hot?

Depends on how you can take the heat. Never had any Problems with that, others are at the edge to passing out.
I get sick by simply looking at a rocking boat. I stay off this stuff no matter how my life sucks for that. :)

Out here I don't have to deal with heat too often and it is mostly dry. That being said my max limit is 90 degrees at which point I seek shelter.

The only time I run into 90 degrees + humidity is in the Philippines and during the day you will find me in a bar drinking San Miguels. There is also one other plus to that which I don't think one could find here.
