After looking hard for over 3 years, and casually looking for a lot longer, I finally found a '65 Polara 500 conv. that's in half decent shape, not that finding any at all was easy, but now it's home and I can start working on it. I'm sure I'll have questions that somebody on here can answer, so that will be highly appreciated. Here are a couple of pictures of it, sorry about the one quarter window being up, it wouldn't go down so that's on the long list of things to fix.

Congrats! Is it complete?

Congratulations on your conquest !!!! :eek:ccasion14:

It looks like a great find and pretty much a nice blank canvas to work with.

Thanks everybody. The guy I got it from had it painted about 5 years ago and that's where the progress stopped. It was actually his wifes car and he wanted a car that was pretty much done, so we worked up a 3-way trade for my brothers '65 Fury Pace Car. The paint isn't too bad, but as far as the body work goes I'll just say that it's a good thing the car is white, it was a pretty solid car though, apparently a California car. The interior is pretty rough, but it is well optioned with PS, PB, factory A/C, p/seat, p/windows, and a tilt wheel. It's more of a project than I was really looking for, but the solid body and the options pushed it over the edge, that and the fact that these things aren't exactly growing on trees, in fact this is the first one that I can remember ever seeing in person, except for one in the swap meet at Carlisle a few years ago that was really rough. So now I can quit looking for a car and start doing some real work ! Oh yeah, the reason I wanted a '65 Polara conv. is because we had one(a 4-door hardtop) when I was a kid, and it was the first car I ever drove, and I always liked the car a lot, they just feel right.

Congrats! Nice car. Keep us posted on it's progress and post pics. You should start a build thread on it.

That will be a beauty...... Did you buy an unfinished project...? Or have you been holding out on us until it was painted....

Whoops...... I didn't read far enough..... congradulations.

Its always better when there's an emotional attachment. Nice project.

Nice looking car, congratulations! That's the same reason I bought my 63 New Yorker. We had a 64, 4 door 300 when I was a kid and I took my drivers license test in that car, so it had fond memories, it was my mom's car but all of the kids drove it too.
