Gas tank problems in the 65 Monaco

I had a similar problem like that with my car. My fuel feed line by the tank had a pinhole, and it was sucking air. My fuel filter would never fill all the way..... I also had stumbling when out running. Once I fixed that no more issues.

i was debating whether I should hold off on new fuel lines....i blew through all debris and they seem to have no blockage but didnt think the straw could just have a hole in it...ggggrrrrrr

That's a good thing to check, being a 50 year old car and all. Another thing that can cause problems is the fuel pump push rod being worn and not actuating the pump lever enough.
As far as buying parts for your car when you find them, I have been buying parts for over 20 years for a car that I just bought a month ago, and I still need a lot of stuff for it. I'm not sure everyone would call that "foresight", but that's what I'm going to call it.
