Hi Guys
Since you all have been a bg help with things I am wondering if anyone knows the proper way to remove the whole dash. What happens when steering column is dropped? Is,the dash bolted in or welded? I am attempting this tomorrow and could use some help. The shop manual is not very clear. Thanx, frank

The dash is bolted in. Six at the top and one each side at the A pillar.
Best to completely remove the steering column, (not a big deal). Disconnect temp cable at the heater control, unplug the bulkhead connector and remove the fuse box screws, You may need to cut and re-splice a feed wire at the blower switch, unplug the main vacuum feed hose, probably remove the lower heater defusion plenum.

Remove the top bolts and loosen the two lower side fasteners and the dash will pivot out and down. It seems to get bigger once it comes loose, you'll need some help.

Good luck.

If you have a gasket around your windshield it has to come out the bolts are under the thick part.at the bottom and go straight vertical down. If you have a press and stick windshield byutle bead the bolts angle with the windshield, and it does not have to come out although still makes it easier.
