Hello,

Been around Mopars, (mostly C-bodies) and the Interwebs for decades yet somehow never visited this site.

Someone cross-posted a thread about an E-body in Europe  over at Moparts, but I clicked because I do find Mopars in exotic lands to be... exotic. Then I realized I was on a site about c-bodies! So for the next X hours, I read the entire site.

I also saw a discussion on the '66 Imperial convertible that was at the big 127-car sale in Dearborn. I saw that car at least a month before, but passed it over because it was way overpriced. Not a bad car, but crazy money for a car with terrible paint and a lot of missing details. So I did something I would never usually do... I sent an email to the seller and said (politely) "No offense, but that car is overpriced. Here is a link to completed eBay auctions for the same car, blah, blah... Here is my offer." I expected to hear nothing. Or "go screw yourself."

Surprisingly, the seller understood and appears to be a pretty good guy. He said "bring cash". So I did, and now I supposedly own that car (deposit and waiting for paperwork). Also met Hemitheus while he was there buying the '68 LeBaron. He said, "great to see other people interested in these cars" and I said "Great to see other people under 80-years old interested in these cars".

I'd like to show some pics, but I imagine I need more posts until I have permission? (At least it's telling me I don't have permission?)

So here goes, first post.

Ok, must have been an expired cookie-thing, so here are a few photos of the MANY C-bodies I've owned. Hopefully you'll see I basically love anything Mopar, but also love to root for an underdog... Especially if it's cheap.

Hi Carmine and welcome to the premier, yes premier cbody forum of the entire universe! Okay, maybe a bit over the top, but pleased to meet you and am looking forward to pics of the car, cheers!

Hi,

welcome to the site. I still remember your GY3 yellow 71 Polara 4-door well

Carsten

Welcome!

Great thing you found your way here. I too was unaware of this site a couple of years ago, now must check in everyday...

Hi Carmine, Have fun here!
I think we have exchanged e-mails already years ago.
Greetings from Germany,
Daniel

Welcome. Beautiful cars!

Thanks, everything but the '61 is gone now. Here is the current fleet:

'51 Imperial sedan (survivor)
'61 Imperial LeBaron (needs re-restoring after too much outdoor storage)
'66 Imperial Convertible (pending)
'69 Imperial LeBaron 4dr (still deciding... may sell, may restore?)
'70 Sport Fury 4dr (low mile CA survivor, bucket seats)
'70 Dart Swinger (/6, current project)
'73 Dodge D-200 (low-buck restored workhorse)
'89 Fifth Ave (last RWD Mopar until '05, future project)
'89 Maserati TC (turbo auto, survivor)
'99 LHS (300M clip, LX rims, fiancées-driver)
'00 Ramcharger de Mexico (my driver, one of 8 in U.S.)
'05 Town & Country (cheap ride home from Florida vacation, future flip)

And I've owned two "new" Challenger R/Ts. I liked them, but realized they sat through the winter while I drove my winter-hoopties (I usually buy something) and sat through the summer while I drove my older cars. I'll let someone else take the depreciation hit and get one again someday.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

Welcome from used tah be Matt'z neighbor. 300M aye? and find and put in hibernation another one. Best FWD Platform Mother ever put her name to. Had an '02 300M Special from new that we sent south for Grand Baby's 16th last September and we followed it down there 2 months later just so I could keep an eye on it and rub on it now and then. Yer gonna like it here Carmine and you're gonna fit rite in with or without your fantastic fleet. For the 1st 60 yearz I used tah be known az Damnit Jerry. Now most everbody just call me Jer

Hi. Went to Germany about 12 years ago. Stayed in Hann Munden and Wolfsburg (toured VW). Enjoyed it very much. The scenery/geography reminded me of the smokey mountains of Tennessee.

Sorry, I can't recall the emails.

Welcome Carmine.....arent you the guy who rescued the 71 Polara four door sedan in Citron Yella that now resides in Canada?

Good to see you still around
