I am currently in the process of putting a set of 73 spindles on my 69 300 to do the disc brake conversion. Last night I tore down the 73 spindles to clean and see what I am working with. It appears the bolts and castle nut that holds the lower ball joint to the spindle are pretty worn out. Some of the thread on the end are damaged and it looks like something might have been hitting the end of the bolt on the car the spindle came off of.

Any my ideas where I can find a replacement set of Bolts and castle nuts?

I plan to post pictures of the conversion later for those interested

You should be able to get those at your local hardware store. Just make sure it's good quality stuff

I'am not aware of any bolt suppliers that build one with the hole for the cotter pins. I should have some good used ones. I'am in the San Antonio,Tx area. It'll be a few days... I'll look at what I have.

Sounds good thanks I'm in college station. My parents live in San antone.

Im doing a disc swap and new Grade 8 hardware and nylock nuts are provided - although I wish they were castle and pins. I will be using the new hardware and will have 3 original bolts/castle nuts available if that helps - the 4th was previously replaced with grade 5 and nylock and I wouldn't recommend using

Might be a silly question, but why not buy the grade 8 hardware and drill a cotter pin hole through the bolts. Ive done it on my drill press before, granted the application was not the same but the results were good.

im good in my application - i was just offering parts to the owner of the thread for karma points hoping someone will answer my thread :)

agree with you though Furyus Ive had success drilling G8 no problem on a drill press - a pipe vice makes it all the easier
