My lift is pissing fluid out of a tiny vent at the top of one of the rams when I raise the lift. Any idea why?
I'm guessing the seal at the bottom of the piston inside the ram is shot and fluid is blowing by it??

Looks like a seal to me too.

Got anyplace local that rebuilds hydraulic cylinders?

Didn't you just replace the motor on that? Or was that someone else?
Yep. Just replaced the motor and pump assy (it's one unit).
I'm taking both rams up to Orlando and getting the seals replaced by a service lift dealer.
And I now have a car stuck up in the air for awhile again.
First this then that....

Did you check your thermostat ?!?

How old is that lift and how often do you use it?
10 Years old. I bought it because the distributer was local, made in the U.S.A. and I liked the B7 Blue...

Not used even 0.10% as much had it been in a repair facility.

There's the answer. Seals are dried out from lack of use. Then add to that the new pump. Slightly more pressure??:dontknow:

I think you nailed it. Lack of use with too much pressure. All you men remember that!!!

Oh wait... Did that offend anyone today?

Isn't that the bleeder. My cylinders are the other way but the only seals are on the ram piston and on the shaft itself.
