I think it was on here in early spring that I read a post about using different additives in your fuel for increased performance, mileage and longevity. In that post there was a link to another forum where a guy was talking about adding Marine 2 stroke oil that contained TC-W3 to his fuel with wonderful results. I believe he had said 1 oz to every 5 gallons.

I'm just wondering if any of you guys have tried anything like this.

Thoughts, opinions, criticisms...

There is no profit, performance wise or otherwise, of adding this oil. It is meant for high r.p.m. 2-cycle engines that do not have a central oiling system. Their pistons generally have steel rings riding in an aluminum bore and require lube in the fuel to prevent seizing when the piston gets hot. You can add such a product if you wish to experiment, but I believe it's effect is the same as Sea Foam and other products that rely on YOU not being able to see their effects. The mind is a strange animal and can be made to imagine and believe something wonderful is happening when in reality it's all just in the mind. Wonder why fuel distillers never thought of this if it's so great. There are videos online where people in labs use borescopes to evaluate the effects of different products in the combustion chamber and the general concensus is that a lot of claims by their manufacturers is all "smoke and mirrors" or "snakeoil".

SeaFoam works wonders when poured directly in to the carburetor. I have been doing it every Spring for many years, plus in my friends C10 w/350ci, it was running poorly(fuel delivery issues) it completely changed the rough idle and added power to sluggish response. I'm all for it!

I personally have been monitoring the amount of gelatinous sludge that'd been gathering in my fuel bowls and it is almost non existent since I've been adding the marine two cycle to the gas. I've seen the YouTube vids regarding the fuel system cleaners showing what appears to be neglegable results from adding two doses into the system. I run Chevron through my fuel injected daily drivers at every oil change, even if it only helps a little I'm good with that.

sea foam for carbs and chevron techron for injection here. both work well.
