I'm surprised this rare beauty ended up this way with its provenance.
It should have never gotten to this point. The previous owner is 100% to blame. He told me he actually bought this car to transfer everything over to the '70 Fury III (also for sale). After he bought it he started diving it around and decided it was way to nice of a car to tear apart. That was in 1997. The car has been a local car all its life. Again, it should have never gotten to this point. People really piss me off

Bob how many people are fender tags nerds in the C-body world?

@bigblockmopar66: Give it a very good clean before you put it on ebay exspecially the interieur.
Try to get it to run. Place it nicely for good pictures. Don't shout pix while the car is still wet from washing or the area surrounding it. Make sure no hose is to be seen in the picture.

I'm sure there's always been talk about it being a show and one of the first built...

I d be willing to bet it's never been talked about till this thread. So many people couldn't really care. It's a four door C body, how many are looking

It was most likely the first 71 nyer 4 door hardtop built.. Pilot car...

That really sums it up quite clearly.. outside of the niche group on this site that car, as well as many other C bodies have zero desirablity. I can't honestly say Id want to invest alot of energy or money into the project, despite the "uniquness" of the car. not hating, just saying

I just informed a bunch of guys which came into my head.
Hope they will step up to save it

Looks like it was still running with a fresh battery on the FBBO site....

Yup just posted it up there. I would love to see this car get saved but I'm not the guy for this car. I need the money for my other projects. Nobody here seemed to step up to the plate so it is what it is unfortunately.

This place is full of Sidewalk Superintendents.
You sir, have an excellent sense of humor. I sincerely hope I never find myself in an actual social setting where I could use this phrase, but if I do, I will, oh wait a minute I live in downtown Edmonton. I can probably whip that one out before the weekend. And sadly that crusty interior is a hard sell. Drives me nuts that if that was a B or E body you could list it for five times that much and have guys getting into fistfights in your driveway within hours.

...
if I was 25 years old...

Sadly, I'm twice that, and well on my way going for the third round... Anyway, there's a fair amount of rust. Fine restos have been made of much worse specimens. But... in addition to rebuilding the whole interior to get rid of the mould, all wiring, electrical switches and connections would have to be gone through to sort out the electrical gremlins, and like the ad says it's loaded [with them].
