Checked out my 61 Polara in Utah ....take a look!

Hey H bomb nice of you to chime in, I shall give you a call later and tell you all about it, say hi to Mrs. Hemi :yourock:
Looks real good! Start cleaning that garage out to make room for her. Great to see you scored the front bumper too. Good trip, eh?

Hi guys thanks for your comments! I agree with black for the colour, with a fresh red interior she will raise more than a few eyebrows over here that's for sure!
I'm pretty certain it will be the only one in the UK!
here is the left hand script .....I tried it on the right side but the tabs and profile don't fit the holes so it would have to be a right emblem
I'm hoping for a safe passage with this car especially as its glass/parts would be hard to source from here ......fingers crossed!!

Door panels are just about hanging in there!
I think I'm going to buy a bead roller and make my floor pans and trunk pan,
I can over engineer it that way and make it fit right, I took some video of the
interior and exterior but I need to make a you tube short to link to ......see how I get on with that!?

My first car was a '61 Phoenix convert. That was 1968 and yes she's gone now. The father of a friend of mine had a Dodge dealership in Philly that closed in '64. He told me he and the salesmen drove to Detroit for the introduction of the Turbine car in a '61 Polara Convertible with Rams and a 3 speed!

I see you're from NJ .....this 61 was originally from NJ

Just a little quickie update, ive been trawling the interweb for parts to send to this 61, which has made it as far as AZ for now!! .....there she sits with a 53 Packard (mine) and a rusty old 50 something chevy pickup with Camaro front end etc ....Yawn!! (my brother! ....he needs educating!) and I came up with 'Big M' in Sacramento for a pair of rear quarters 4dr but the bottom edges are good, I got my Polara fender script and hood letters from Germany and rear license plate surround from Belguim! .....forwardlook.net proved very fruitful ....thanks for the tip.....not long now.:thankyou::usflag:

It will be quite a looker when done, is it still in the states? I saw you asked about shipping I didn't know if you got it sent home.

Nice car except for the wheels...:poke:
Congrats, it's going to be a stunner!

Nice work GB. You have obviously put in a huge effort to get this far. There's nothing like travelling half way around the world to get your dream car. It seems the Polara is in good hands and will make a full recovery in good time.

Ive been playing with photoshop and as I happened upon these old school wheels some time ago for cheap, thought the Polara might look good with them on .....thought provoking at least??
