Has ANYBODY put a set of 15x10 on the rear? Im worried that I messed up measuring. If I figured right there should be about an inch of clearance on both sides with 5.5" back spacing.

BTW, they will be going on a 66 300

We have talked about this in the past. Boy that seems too big to me. I went 15x7 all around and I am certain people have put 15x8 in the back, but I can't see the 15x10s fitting back there. I have a '66 300 too and it is pretty tight with the 15 x7 and a back spacing of 4.25.

I have a 65 Newport Wagon, with the factory skirts, for fun my buddy and I tried his 20x 10 Vista "intros" on it from his 63 Galaxy. Tires low profile 35 series, 235's I think, not sure, but they fit! Even had 3 inch lowerering blocks. No mods either. Do not know backspace. I got pics, if I find it, I will post it!

Go for it! I want to see a pic of 15x10s on a '66 300! If that fits, that might be pretty damn cool!

What size tire are you thinking about running . Tire side bulge comes into play , I might be able to help , I have a 15x10 wheel with a 10.5 wide tire and can take pics and give you some measurements if needed .

I was planning on going with a 10.5 wide tire. I want the car to hook. Close to 700# don't really want to burn the tires off-all the time anyway.
If you could take an overall width measurement with tire bulge that would bee great.
Thanks

Along the subject. Who here remembers the car "flyin whale"? Dude was from Maine and had a really hot 66-300 that had big meats, car looked like this. Really badass!

The Flying Whale from Maine was featured in the June 2006 issue of Mopar Action. I cant find my issue or any info online. Any chance someone has a copy they could look and see what tire/wheel he used?
That's exactly what im looking for

Found this quote about the Flyin' Whale...

The rear end is a Dana 60 with 3.54 gears, a Powr-Lok limited slip, and Dutchman 35 spline forged axles with screw in studs. Custom leaf springs from National Spring with double wrapped front eye, 9 leaves front/7 rear, poly bushings, Addco 3/4" roll bar, Proshocks adjustable shocks, front leaf spring mount moved inboard 7/8" (for tire clearance), Street Rod Manufacturing rear disk brake kit (maintains the emergency brake) with Lincoln 11" rotors and Eldorado calipers and braided steel lines. The tires are BFG Radials, 265/50R-16 in the front, and 295/50R16 in the rear. The rims are custom steel rallies, 9" wide in the front, 10" rear, with stainless steel trim rings and center caps made from original 300 spinner hubcaps."

The tire I am using is 10.5 wide and 28 inches tall . Mickey thompson radial , 28x12.0or15lt p/n MMT-6641 . Has a load rating of 1435 lbs . They work great in the rain and are a directional tire . Other tires may have more sidewall buldge than what these have . The wheels are Cragar SS . They can be ordered thru Summit racing with the back spacing you need . They are spec or special order wheels and run about $20.00 per wheel more but you have to be sure what you want , if you order wrong you will eat them no returns . But you can order wheels with needed back spacing from most wheel company's . So the over all wheel size mounted on a 10 inch wheel is 12 1/8 inch over all . my back spacing with 5 inches of back spacing on the wheel is 6 1/8 . there are some pic's to help ...pic 1 width front tire on rim , pic 2 front view , pic 3 back view , pic 4 width of wheel and tire , pic 5 back spacing on wheel
