Yes those guys are flucking nuts.

It seems there will only be certain cars that will bring a specific amount of money in the Chrysler or C-body world UNTIL certain auction houses and buyers really see how under valued many of these cars are. I remember about 10 years ago Automobile magazine ran a article on slab side Chryslers and the number took off for a while but fell off after a couple of years. Never say never. Who would think 60 and 61 Chryslers would ever take off
After reading everyone's response above I went into hemming and looked at the price of Imperials, amazing how low some of the prices are compared to a Lincoln or Cadillac of the same era. Because a car says 300 or ... on it does not justify a 5 figure price. Everyone has a opinion of a "NICE" car. Just saying.

There is some geography to consider. I am a Detroit transplant in FL. It seemed like up there, you could find parts to restore a car cheaper, and more plentiful. It seemed like every 5th garage had an old car in it.
The swap meets down here, Mopars at the Battle Ship, Garlits, couldn't hold a candle to the WPC meet. Therefore, I would gladly pay more for a complete car.
All our discussion is subject to many unseens though, how clean is the underside, has it been in any accidents. Without boots on the ground, this car could still be a turd or a jewel.
To myself, a 68 300 is not as desirable as a Fuselage era 300, but that's just me.

And dude, for 10k could you maybe TRY to clean it up a lil bit? The passenger seat is filthy, there's rust stains dripping off the rear quarter markers, (rant over).

Just went to wpc meet sunday it was great. biggest i've seen in years.

Blasphemy!

Easy Dave. I'm not saying I dislike the 68. It's kinda like Jessica Simpson VS Paris Hilton. I'd tune up either one, just if I had to pick..

This Dodge boy is just happy that our cars haven't been discovered yet. It keeps the hobby in reach of the common man. I stand to be corrected but it seems like that are no comparable land yacht groups for Fords of GMs. That means we are special and don't need to pay through the nose.

I have to somewhat agree. Take the smaller C's, like the 65 Fury/Polaras.
A big block C body needing work somewhere in the 3-4k range. Try to find a decent BB 65 Impala for that, you'll look a long time.

I even like the Pontiac Bonnevilles, same deal, I'd take a WAG and say they probably are going to be priced 50% more than the C bodies.

It takes the same money, if not more to restore a C body that will be worth less in the end.

I don't follow the Imps/Formal pricing, are they lower than GM/FoMoCo offerings?

I don't care, I love my Fury, and every licking upside down dollar wise thing I do to it!!
Stroker and associated systems coming soon!

I, of course, closely watch the NYB to Caddy and Lincoln comparables. They are actually about the same,

The flippers price them in the teens and I think they all sell for about ½ of that on the street.

There's been Town Cars that I seriously wanted to jump on.
