I added the Sylvania ZEVO LED 1157 RED bulbs today and they are great!

Remember if you do this to get the Red LED bulbs otherwise the lenses can look washed out..

I just have to replace the backup lights, front signal lights; courtesy lighting all around

Hi guys. the bulbs were $20 at the local Walmart.
I picked them up when I was in the Chi-town area.
Yah, it's a bit of a stretch for $20 but I viewed the reviews online and went for it.
My doesn't do the hyper flash because the car has an electronic flasher already installed.

Most of all cars have the cheap heat resistance rheostat type.

I think with the old heat resistance type flashers, the turn signals won't flash at all or at a veeerry slow rate because the LED's draw way fewer Amps than incandescent bulbs. An added resistor probably won't help. So you might also have to purchase an electronic, LED-prove, two-terminal flasher like this one.

I've looked into LED bulbs and I always came away thinking that the quality seemed to be an unknown since there weren't any major brands selling them. There were also issues with the LED being very directional, not giving off reflective light like an incandescent bulb does. From my reading, it meant that you could only see the light from straight on. They can stack LEDs, but again we come back to quality and you never seem to know what you are getting.

But... This might change my mind... The bulb looks like a completely different design than what I've seen before. Walmart has them at $15 for two... This may work. I have to do some reading.

$15??? I got ripped off!!! LOL!!

I saw this recently:

Looks pretty good to me. I'm going this route, I think.
And for the relais, you just need any load independent relais. They are available cheap!

Hmmm, these might prolong the life of my almost unobtainable tilt/tele turn signal switch.

Agreed, the load running thru the switch on our 67's is a lot, with all those bulbs in the back. But what do you do about the flasher? Those led's make the flasher go nuts don't they?
