Murray B. Park Private tour

Murray's place looks like the ultimate vacation resort.

You are probably right and I thought the same thing. Too many to ever unload. Life can bring along issues not seen right now.

We had a large yard out here that had hundreds of cars from the 50's and 60's with some 40's thrown in. Covered a wide range from majors down to Packard, Studebaker, early Mercedes and the like. Was in it once back in 2007 and loved it. Wanted to get back and was unable till 2014 only to find it shut down and the 700+ cars hauled off and scrapped in 2010.

His daughter/daughters have bolts, nuts, clips, sorted by size shape etc. nice easy way to get specific hardware.

Speaking of junk yards take a look at this. I have to go to Williams, CA next Tuesday/Wednesday and was checking out directions using Google. Went to the satellite image and scrolled down to see my exit and ran across this image. No signs and no info found. Seems to be no gate either. Lots of light colored vehicles. I'll pass by it and try to shoot a photo.

And to think it all started when his dad bought him two old junkerz to part out and sell to give the young Ladd some spending money. The wisdom of the father aye? I'm proud to say I can call Murray my friend for more yearz then he and Mindy have been keeping house and she too iz now my friend az well. I wonder if he still haz hiz '58 DeSoto Ohio City Cop Car? Probably, Mindy told me once hiz folks told her he still had hiz 1st tooth.

You're a lucky guy.
How did you get the full boat tour? Especially a 3-4 hr. tour.
Were you there with an empty 40' container ready to fill up?

I wrote him a mail and asked for a visit. Told him I am a Cbody-Fan from Germany and need some parts (just small stuff I can put in my luggage). So we made a date and when we met he immediately said he would show us everything. His two places with the wrecks and his driveable cars at his home. He liked to see people from Europe honor his job I think. Or maybe it was, because my wife attended me? ;-) She was also excited about all that stuff. Was a very friendly atmosphere between us from the beginning.
I also told him to make advertise for him in Germany - what I will really do and distribute his business cards at the bbtr fuselage meeting in july.

Yea did Murray make you stack parts or anything?
He "only" earned about 500 $ from me. But I think it was not just the deal he could make. He had fun that we had fun.

I can only say again he is a great guy and he loves what we all love - CBodies!

I know what you're talking about... it's fun to meet people from half a world away who share such an obscure common interest. In fact, my favorite pictures are the ones with C-bodies in front of European landmarks (although Paris is out of the question now I suppose).

Last autumn did ask -69 floor shift column with tilt and tele, got answer under 2hours.
Tho didnt have money for it... yet :) But i will, we Fins we will rob all parts from you... maybe...not...

That is the yard called Big M Automotive, run by a guy named John. Although I have never been there or met John, all my dealings with him are just like with Murray. He is just a great guy and always willing to help. He also has a lot of stuff, and a lot of forward look cars. Google his business and you will see more photos of what he has. I have also known him for many years and he always comes through for me.

Is that 72 duster he has is it for sale? Curiosity is killing me

Well I'll be passing right by it coming and going on Tuesday/Wednesday. Sounds like the office is on the north side of Williams and the yard the south side where I come in.

as Steve said John is a great guy.
I visited hom, too in the past.
One of the best parts suppliers for forwardlook cars.
No Fuselage Mopars are on his yard

I am the lucky guy who got the tour and I took the pictures.
To answer your question - it's plumcrazy! He told me it should be the only Fury (or just the only '70 Fury?) ever built in this color. I got so much information this day ;-)

Murray was really great. Picked us up at our hotel and made a 3 1/2 hours tour! We stopped it, because we had to be in Cleveland in the afternoon. Think he had spend even more time with us. He was pretty organized, knew the history of most cars and where he got them from.

I must say this was really the top of our vacation so far. But I can't imagine anything will boost it within our last two days.

yes, it is a real FC7 car. Fender tag has "999" paint code.
Car was for sale on moparts 10+ years ago for 700$.
No engine (was 318), had a golden hood installed at that time and LOTS of rust.
And I am not a scary chick if it comes to rust. Needed frame rails and had rust in every panel.

The carcass should be kept as proof it has been built in that colour.

he has a small yard on the northside, too. But 80% of the cars including the better projects are on the other yard. Make sure you give him a call
