Yearlong E body project

You're doing it right.. better off finishing the challenger later than rushing things, that rarely turns out well. The imp is agreat car and you don't want to go on your honeymoon "half cocked":poke:

Can't wait to follow the trip thread and congratulations again! ENJOY!

The old top was a replacement installed a very long time ago that was stretched out and coming apart at the seams, Not to mention that it was made from incorrect materials.

The new top is a huge improvement and I'm happy to report that besides looking so much better, a lot of squeaks and rattles are gone when cruising with the top up. I know this because I haven't put it down yet, it looks too good...:D

Sweet that top looks great and the car looks great with the top up too. The top really complements the body style. I don't think Goldie looks nearly as good with the top up. compared when it is down.

So Matt I may have missed it but did you take the top off and replace or have someone do it or do part ??

Came out great

I choose my battles wisely these days. I was just 15' away making money while an experienced trimmer with a specialty in tops did the r & r. I thought about giving it a go but for what he charged me, I'm glad I didn't.

I dislike E-bodies (you knew that) but because this one is yours, I love it.

Sounds like a logical move to me. I understand they can be tricky

Thanks Stan! It's a neat car and I love it too but if it wasn't something that has been in my family for 20 years I wouldn't own it. I prefer driving the Imp and I would almost certainly have my RR done by now if it weren't for this car. All that being said, I'm not complaining.

3 hrs thats fantastic. I would probably look at for 2 hrs. then work on it. If he is local Matt can I get his contact info? Is it JD?
JD is all but retired for health reasons. He offered to help me if I attempted to do it on my own though. I'd be happy to give you his number, give me a call or text or pm.

Three hours......? must have been a "piece of cake". Flat rate for a fusy C body is seven hours. I've installed a few top covers, and a couple entire top frames. But I left Jazebelles top to a pro and I was just an extra pair of hands.

It came out so good that the company I bought it from uses a photo of Jazebelle to sell their tops on ebay.

PLYMOUTH FURY 1969-70 CONVERTIBLE TOP AND GLASS ASSEMBLY - WHITE CRUSH
He did say that these cars are a piece of cake compared to Chebbies & phords but I didn't ask if he had any experience with the big Chryslers.
