Picked up this '67 Imperial recently. It's a one family-owned car that was purchased new in my home town. I bought it from the granddaughter of the original owner. It has its original black paint, shows 57K miles, and came with the window sticker. Runs and drives nicely!

Congrats! Beautiful Imp! Looks to have been reupholstered and also appears to have been a silver leather interior originally. How about a pic of the fender tag?

Oh and by the way, you suck!

For starters, your trim code of M7N doesn't translate in the White Book.
M=medium(same as mine)
7='68 only cloth & vinyl buckets(I don't think the pattern you have was available in anything but leather)((could be wrong))
N='68 only gold & black which it obviously is not.

2.94 open axle, black paint, stripe delete.
Built Thursday, September 1st, '66.

Lower case row. Mine decodes the same here except yours has the u-code so this is how I did mine to the best of my ability.
b-5 rr armrest w/ashtray
d-6 rr seat speaker
g-6 bumper reveal moulding
h-7 fender turn sigs
j-0 belt moulding
k-7 r.h. Outside mirror
u-1 sold car expedite

Upper case
D-9 front disc, rr drum
H-2 power locks
J-5 l+r power seats
K-8 p. Windows
Q-9 tilt tele
R-4 am radio w/search tune
S-1 ac
X-1 tinted all
Y-6 black vinyl top

My shipping order number is only 15 less than yours and our scheduled build dates are less than 10 days apart.
Build sheet yet?
Any cracks in that beautiful silver steering wheel?

No, I'm not good with long distance relationships, I will just lust after his Imp from here.

Yes, unfortunately the wheel has a couple of cracks. The wheel and interior are off-white, not silver. Also, the power windows don't work. I think the driver's side mechanism is stripped because it makes noise & I can pull the window up and down, but the other three don't do anything. My guess is that is has to do with the window lock switch because that's what they have in common?

I haven't lifted the back seat yet, so not sure about a build sheet.

If it's a white interior then that N should be a W on this car and I believe the 7 should be a 3.

Hi Matt,

FYI, The 67 Parts book shows this as an option on page IT-195.

Thanks Shooter! I guess the White Book doesn't apply to the Imps as it does the Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodges. In fact at the bottom of the trim code page it says "Go through Imperial literature" which I'm now noticing for the first time.

Yea, just when I think I've got a handle on reading through this stuff, something else pops up. Others have found part numbers in their books that I never found. I think it depends on if all the revisions were added to the parts book that you're looking at.

It makes since that the Imps would have there own White Book. With as much trim as Imps got, the White Book for Imps, if there is one, is probably bigger than the combined book for all others

I will have to spend some time going over the literature available online this winter. I'm thinking the way I've decoded the tags isn't completely accurate, for example the b-5 rr armrest with ashtray as that was standard for Imps.
