Thanks Stan. I was talking to that individual last night and he was suppose to email me a picture. I didn't want him to broadcast it on EBay. Lucky me I got it before someone else bought it. I did purchase it.

This is one hell of a find!!!!!!!!!! I'm actually dancing!!!

Not a pretty sight! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!
That's funny. I posted it at 10:05 and you bought it at 10:08. LOL
I just realized he's the guy with the 78 sheet metal.
He must have listed it specifically so you could grab it. Honorable guy!!!

Man, you've been having some unbelievably good luck on that '78. Good for you!

I was thinking.
We once talked about someone that you knew who would machine them if you had a good example to give him?
Still thinking of that? (make some $$?)

Couldn't of found a lot of things without the help of the great friends I have here on FCBO!!!

What's strange is the leads that I think are rock solid.....like Leon's........400 mile round trip and there's not one formal NY'er in 100 acres of cars. The other formals already stripped, broken or enshrined by a massive colony of wasps.

In the long run............I had a hell of a day!

Congratulations on the wiper parts ! Now, to the next step, before you install it, drill a hole and mount a grease fitting in a place where you can reach it once it's mounted. Then get some WD40 or other solvent and spray it into the hole and move it around to soften the grease in there. Then repack the plastic cam with grease and mount. The cam failures are aggravated by the grease inside drying out.
By periodically greasing it, it should prolong the life of the unit.

Excellent idea. I found that Sea Foam Deep Creep was the best penetrating solvent to use. I think the grease fitting might not work. Not much plastic area to put a grease fitting. I don't want to weaken the cam by taking material away. I don't have a problem cleaning and greasing it every few years.

I have a cousin that's a CNC engineer for Total Seal in Phoenix. He's going to try to make one with my old cam. Heck, I'm even thinking about giving it a shot with a 3D printer at the Proving Ground.

A lot of tutorials on the web about inexpensive DIY 3D printers. I'm sooooooooooooo tempted.

PS: Make sure you use DELRIN, not nylon or Polyurethane

I have a few whiz kid engineers at APG with 3D printers. I'm almost tempted to hand it to them, not even tell them what it is, and ask them to make one.

There. I fixed it.
You could get 30 bucks each all day long to individuals for new ones. I bet Restoration Specialties would buy half of them alone at a price. And Murray the other half.
Or pull a "Frank" and call them NOS....

LOL! Frank would try to buy them for $5 a piece and sell them for $300 a piece or more!

Thanks Commando. So another question.. Is it possible to linkage action from a 74 -77 will fit and is that cam available?

A member here, 1978 NYB, came up with a repair for the 78 using an earlier linkage welded to the 78.
He'll chime in shortly after the football game or you can attempt a forum search to find the thread.
