Gentlemen:

In the event that I want to buy a set of new spark plug wires for my 77 Newport (lean burn removed, 400 engine, original TQ carb) can anyone share with me a source that sells a high quality set, one made for this engine? Does Mopar make them?

I have been burned by aftermarket parts, and am now careful where I buy. Who sells the best wires available? Do I need to assemble them myself?

With many thanks for your kind wisdom and advice,

Peter

After 3 failed jobber sets (NAPA) i went with authentic Mopar wires through Mopar Performance part# P4529792 no issues and looks correct. Your local Dodge Dealer can locate them for you.

I use taylor cables 8mm.

also something about what kind of ignition you have dictates if you want solid core copper or some composite material wires.

go study :)

Always loved the Taylor 8mm. I ran those with the pertronix igniter ignition kit / flame thrower coil, and Bosch Platinum Plus 4 plugs in my Monaco, never skipped a beat.

Plus I got to be all kinds of OCD and do custom wire fitting... love that ****.

Graham,

What is the difference between those wires and PN # 4339405?

Ones the Mopar Performance part # the other is the discontinued OEM part # from what I can see. Both are BB Orange plug wires. There's one sitting on a Dealer's shelf in Douglas GA. The MP product is readily available through most Dealers.

With the MP ones I put on the Monaco, I thought both the wires for cylinders 7 and 8 were short. #7 by a couple of inches.
Firecore are the wires that the FAST (Factory Appearing Stock Tire) guys use. The quality is great, they look stock at a glance and they perform.
A couple of pics first the Monaco with the MP wires and then my Road Runner with the Firecore wires.

Do you have a part number for the wires?

I agree Dave the wires are short for #7. I just got tired of the problems the jobber wires were causing. I like the look of these Firecore wires so I may upgrade.
