Hello, I finaly got my 76 Chrysler wagon home to Australia but somewhere between leaving PA and me getting it in my garage a forklift has been used on it to lift the rear end damaging the rear frame panel and doing serious damage to the fuel tank.
Of course both the transport guys and the shippers claim they would never ever put a forklift near a car and there is no way it was them. Fact is I have a forklift damaged wagon.
Has anyone had any dealing with A&A Car Carriers based in CA?? they were they carriers and it was supposed to be door to door ( PA to LA ) all the way on the one truck, I find that hard to believe.
So I am asking if anyone has had any problems with them? anyone had this sort of thing happen to them? George.

Not them per-say but transporters rarely do what they say.I paid extra to have a car delivered door to door, and be there by a certain date only to find the car in a warehouse in Michigan missing the event that the car was scheduled for. There are several stories I could tell from different truckers, all not good. I'm sorry for your loss..

When they loaded it it was the last car on the top row, so who knows how many time it was on and off. You would think that if it was going all that way too LA, they would have put it up front right behind the cab, so they wouldn't have to dick with it when picking up or dropping off anymore cars.
Sorry for that happening to it George.

Dag... That sucks.

FWIW, I wouldn't continue to classify the damage as "from a forklift" or everyone will continue to give the "not us" response. To much information just makes it easier to deny a claim. If the car rolled off a ramp along the way the damage could be very similar.

I hope they make you whole and you get her driving soon.

Fork lift damage just got my 65 4dr hardtop. Mashed the gas tank. Also got the wagon. Buckled the floor below the drivers seat. What the heck are these operators doing?

Damn George, that is bad news. I am wondering if it didn't happen at the container company? Generally they stuff 4 vehicles into one of those overseas containers and I wouldn't be surprised if they used a forklift to get it on the top row if needed. If fact, how do container companies generally get the cars on the top row without a forklift? Steep ramps?? A lift bed of some sort? What container company was used - was it in the Wilmington area?
